On voit ici le comité organisateur de la marche, composé de Yvon Laplante, sous-chef pompier à Casselman, Marcel Cléroux, conseiller, Pierre Campeau, directeur de l’Académie de la Seigneurie, Jerry Benoit, Sabrina Rodrigue, du service d’urgence de Prescott-Russell, Catherine Dupont, de Valoris, Anne Jutras, directrice du Centre Novas Prescott-Russell, et Vanessa Rouleau, coordonnatrice au Centre Novas.
Les hommes chausseront leurs talons hauts, lors de la 6 e Marche internationale des hommes. Un mille en talons hauts se tiendra le 27 mai, à 18h, à Casselman. La gente masculine est donc invitée en grand nombre pour exprimer son opposi- tion aux agressions à caractère sexuelle et la violence faite aux femmes. « Les hommes ont une place importante dans notre com- bat », a déclaré la directrice du Centre Novas Calacs francophone de Prescott-Russell, Anne Jutras, lors d’une conférence d’une conférence qui se déroulait le lundi 11 mai à la caserne des pompiers de Casselman. « Ils sont un vecteur pour que cesse ce genre de comportement. Nous les appelons les hommes alliés. » En 2014, le détachement de Hawkesbury de la Police provinciale de l’Ontario a noté une hausse des déclarations d’agressions sexuelles, toutes catégories confondues. « Ce résultat me fait plutôt dire qu’il y a de plus en plus de femmes qui le disent », s’est réjoui la directrice. Une femme sur trois sera victime d’agression sexuelle au cours de sa vie, et les filles âgées de 12 à 17 ans sont les plus susceptibles d’être victimes d’une agression sexuelle ou d’un autre type d’infraction sexuelle. C’est donc un rendez-vous pour tous les hommes le 27 mai, dans le stationnement des Co-operators, à Casselman. Un bar- becue sera offert gratuitement à tous les participants avant la marche dans les rues du village. Le directeur de l’Académie de La Seigneu- rie de Casselman, Pierre Campeau, a orga- nisé du transport en autobus de Hawkes- bury à Casselman.
