ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSION SUNDAY QUIET WAVE

This wave is sponsored by St Mary’s Hospice, which has been designed for swimmers who would benefit from a quieter, more relaxed environment. Whether you’re feeling nervous about your first open water swim, prefer a calmer atmosphere, or simply want more space around you, this wave offers a more comfortable and supportive experience. With a reduced number of participants, swimmers will have plenty of room to enter the water at their own pace and find their rhythm without feeling crowded. The overall atmosphere will be intentionally low-key, with minimal music and lower-volume PA announcements to reduce noise and create a more peaceful setting.

Our team and volunteers will be on hand throughout to support you, helping to ensure a smooth and reassuring experience from start to finish.

St Mary’s Hospice provides vital, compassionate care for people with life- limiting illnesses across the Furness, South Lakes and the Lake District. They support patients and their families through every stage of their journey, offering specialist palliative care, emotional support, and practical guidance both in our hospice and in the community. Their mission is to help people live well until the end of life, with dignity, comfort, and choice.
