SCB to Review Condition

Has ADA requirements been addressed per August 9, 2013 minute meetings with City of Chicago. R We would like to suggest making MAU an outdoor unit that is gas fired with DX cooling. Furthermore, we would suggest some kind of heat exchanger that is tied into the toilet exhausts to reclaim energy and possibly lower the cooling/heating load. Additionally, the DX will allow for us to use the hot gas bypass to reheat the air once dehumidified. That or install a wraparound coil. R VRF SYSTEM - VE ( AIR COOL) A. This is obviously a large change in the design. We would suggest that there is a VRF system installed in lieu of the four pipe fan coils. The system has the following benefits: i. Higher energy efficiency. ii. Lower structural requirements on the roof. iii.Lower electrical loads. iv.The condensing units are a low profile design. v. One floor can be served by one condensing unit. If the owners would like, they could upgrade to a dedicated condensing unit for their unit. vi. BTU Metering so the building can charge the owners. vii.Heating and cooling year round with minor limitations that are no different than specified air cooled chiller system. viii. Secondary changes include: 1. Possible elimination or reduction on roof mechanical room. 2. Mechanical room can possible be made to be shorter.

SCB to Advise. Owner is reaching out to consultant for clarification as well. Owner not interested in DX for acoustical reasons.

Owner not interested. Public likes 4 pipe.

3. Screening can be lowered. 4. Electrical Service Reduction 5. Steel reduction 6. Chiller Vibration concerns & System maintenance will be simple 7. More Green Roof / open space

ix.LEED Friendly. b. Open items in design would be the retail areas. We could also use the VRF system. We would run risers to the roof (or perhaps the pool equipment room) and the tenant would R A more popular installation these days is a wireless thermostat. This will allow for the home owner to install the thermostat in a manner that matches with their décor and can also save time in the initial installation. Furthermore, some of these stats connect into a WIFI network that will allow the home owner to control from afar R
