3. SITE CONCRETE, PAVING AND LANDSCAPE 3.1. Exterior Concrete m) General:

i. Provide all required exterior concrete including but not limited to sidewalks, curbs, door stoops, aprons at overhead doors, truck well slabs and retaining walls, process equipment slabs, electrical and mechanical equipment slabs, dumpster slab. ii. All exterior concrete shall have a concrete mix designed 3500 PSI compressive strength at a 28 day test and will include 5% to 7% entrained air. iii. Provide a minimum of 4” compacted granular material under all concrete slabs on grade consisting of a material similar to 2NS sand. iv. Provide broom finish of concrete for anti-skid characteristics. v. Include crack control or expansion joints as required by ACI standards. b) Curbing i. Provide 6” minimum integral concrete curb where paving abuts landscaped areas. ii. Provide concrete curbs along roadways and parking areas. c) Sidewalks i. Sidewalk areas shall meet municipal requirements and shall be 4” thick and have a width of 60”. ii. Provide a decorative concrete patio sized 15’ wide and 30’ long. iii. Exterior doors that do not open onto a sidewalk shall open onto a minimum of a 5’ x 5’ concrete pad. iv. All sidewalks abutting paving will have a 6” minimum integral curb. d) Dumpster Pad i. Provide a 15’ x 15’ wire mesh reinforced, 6” thick concrete dumpster pad. e) Declined Approach Recessed Truck Well: i. Provide 1 (one) declined approach recessed truck wells having 10” compacted base and 8” thick concrete slab and a broom finish with reinforced poured concrete retaining walls. ii. Width of declined approach truck well shall provide a minimum of 5’-0” CLEAR from each side of the 9’-0” wide overhead door to the inside face of the concrete retaining wall of the truck well, providing a nominal minimum overall truck well width of 19’-0”. iii. Provide recessed well with a dock height between 48” to 52”, accommodating a 60 foot tractor trailer with a floor height of up to 4’-6”. iv. Provide bumper projection or a projected dock to avoid building damage. v. Truck well shall be sloped as engineered to provide proper pitch for catch basin, but not more than 1% to 2%. f) Process Equipment Slabs / Spill Containment i. Provide 8” thick exterior concrete equipment pads for cooling tower(s), gas compressor, above ground fuel tanks, emergency generator, transformer / switchgear and other process equipment as may be required. ii. Concrete equipment pads shall be a monolithic pour with a 12” x 42” trench footing and an 8” concrete pad with 6x6x2.1 welded wire mesh. iii. Provide covered 8” thick exterior concrete slab and secondary spill containment area compliant with all State, Local and Federal requirements including EPA 40 CFR Part 112 necessary to accommodate ten 55 gallon drums fuel and oil, four 330 gallon totes and two 4,000 gallon above ground fuel storage tanks. g) Miscellaneous Exterior Concrete i. Provide primary transformer and associated equipment pad designed as required to meet local utility company requirements.
