8. DOORS, WINDOWS AND PRESSURE RELIEF LOUVERS 8.1. Hollow Metal Doors

a) Provide single leaf, double leaf and acoustic hollow metal door assemblies as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. b) All hollow metal Dynamometer Test Cell doors shall be acoustic 100 PSF pressure resistant performing to a minimum of -51 dBA and have automatic closers. c) Provide continuous hinges on double leaf hollow metal door assemblies. d) Hollow metal doors and frames will be provided in all masonry walls and in interior construction necessary for exterior and core area construction under base building construction. This includes building electrical, data, telephone closets, stairwells (if any), mechanical equipment rooms, egress door to fire pump room, elevator mechanical room (if any), and interior passage doors penetrating fire separation walls. e) Hollow metal doors shall be 1 ¾” thick. f) All exterior doors will be insulated and have thresholds and weather-stripping. g) Provide industrial grade hollow metal doors and frames, each including preparation for locksets, hinges and panic hardware as required (minimum size 3’–0” x 7’–0”). h) Exterior frames shall be 14-gauge with welded corners and hollow metal exterior doors shall be insulated and 16-gauge. i) Interior frames shall be 16-gauge with welded corners and doors shall be 18-gauge steel at core areas. j) Interior doorframe openings over 4’-0” in width shall have 14-gauge hollow metal frames with welded corners. k) Hollow metal doors and frames shall receive a factory primer in preparation for field painting. l) Hollow metal doors and frames shall conform to Hollow Metal Manufacturers Association (HMMA) guide specifications HMMA 861. m) Exterior hollow metal frames shall include electric strikes, type to be coordinated with security vendor. n) Interior passage doors will have appropriate fire rating label where penetrating fire separation walls. o) All doors requiring closers will be provided surface-mounted door closers (with cover) and premium surface mounted exit devices (where required). p) Provide 24” wide x 7’-0” high hollow metal sidelight frames (integral to the door frames) and glass at offices, conference rooms and other rooms as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. q) Interior passage doors and frames to carry appropriate fire rating label where required. r) Provide magnetic hold open locks on dynamometer doors as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. 8.2. Wood Doors a) Provide solid wood door assemblies as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. b) Wood doors and finish hardware (as described herein) will be provided to all spaces not receiving Hollow Metal doors as described earlier. c) Provide 3’-0” wide x 7’-0” high x 1-3/4” solid core, pre-finished wood doors with a rotary cut premium red oak veneer finish as interior office doors. d) Provide each door set in a field-finished hollow metal frame. e) Interior passage doors and frames to carry appropriate fire rating label where required.
