l) Industrial Waste Piping i. Provide complete industrial waste under-floor piping system for entire non-office area. 14.2. Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning a) Provide Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning (HVAC) system meeting performance requirements and areas as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. General design parameters for the HVAC system are as follows: i. HVAC design load criteria shall be based on the following occupancy Load: Offices: One person per 140 Net SF. Meeting / Conference / Training Rooms: One person per 30 Net SF. ii. Heat to 72 degrees Fahrenheit (F) dry bulb inside when 0 degrees F outside. iii. Cool to 75 degrees F dry bulb inside at 90 degrees F. iv. Provide office area cooling sized for 1 ton per 250 square feet in all areas. v. The mechanical equipment shall be selected and installed such that the following noise criteria shall not be exceeded: Office Areas: NC-35 Conference Rooms: NC-25 vi. Provide temperature, humidity, air filtration and exhaust as identified in the Technical Criteria Matrix. vii. Ducted supply and ceiling plenum return air systems will be used and all ductwork will be fabricated and installed according to the standards as set by the Sheet Metal Contractors National Association (SMCNA). viii. Toilet rooms and locker rooms shall also be provided with an air exhaust system to conform to the local code requirements. b) Provide office area HVAC system as follows: i. Provide packaged gas-fired roof top heating units with integral direct expansion (DX) cooling capacity. ii. HVAC system shall be specified for use with DDC controls and shall provide VAV zoning system, reheats and duct smoke detectors. Each unit to have CO2 sensor for demand ventilation. iii. Mount rooftop HVAC units on prefabricated roof curbs. iv. Provide distribution of branch ductwork and ceiling mounted diffusers, DDC controls, and acoustically insulating sound “boots” over return air grilles in all conference rooms, private offices and cafeteria / vending areas. v. Provide complete system consisting of all equipment, sheet metal ductwork, grilles, registers, diffuser and controls necessary to complete the heating/cooling system. vi. Ceiling mounted diffuser shall be Titus OMNI steel plaque face diffuser. vii. The space between the suspended ceiling and roof deck will be utilized as a return air plenum a sound boot will be utilized at each cold air return grill. c) Provide dedicated HVAC unit in Server Room for cooling and humidity control tied to DDC system by use of an above-ceiling Liebert® Mini-Mate II unit or equal, providing low ambient control down to zero degrees F. d) Relocate existing Particulate Weigh Room Class 1000 clean room HVAC system. e) Provide shop area HVAC system as follows: i. Provide packaged gas-fired roof top units (RTU) with integral direct expansion (DX) cooling capacity. ii. Locate RTU’s at furthest practical distance from test cell exhaust stacks / mufflers. Without fail, the possible cross contamination of air intake with vehicle exhaust MUST be prevented. iii. HVAC system shall be specified for use with DDC controls and shall provide
VAV zoning system, reheats and duct smoke detectors. iv. Mount rooftop HVAC units on prefabricated roof curbs.
