A. Each submittal shall show Subcontractor’s review stamp, with handwritten signature, certifying review of the submittal, verification of field measurements and compliance with the Contract Documents.

B. Each submittal shall be accompanied with a Subcontractor’s submittal transmittal form. The following information shall be furnished by the Subcontractor on the submittal transmittal form:

3.03

SUBMITTAL IDENTIFICATION

A. This paragraph is included to explain the method for submittals identification using Section 08710. Finish Hardware and the Finish Hardware Schedule as an example.

[DEVELOP ANY JOB SPECIFIC SUBMITTAL AND RE-SUBMITTAL CODING AND NUMBERING SYSTEM FOR YOUR PORJECT OR USE THE FOLLOWING]

B. The Subcontractor shall assign submittal designations utilizing the following format and system.

C. The number for the first shop drawing submitted under that Section would be 08710-001, the “001” designating that this is the first submittal under Section 08710. If this "finish hardware" submittal is marked "rejected-resubmit", the re-submittal would retain the 08710-001 but a “Rev. 1” would be added as an additional suffix to designate re-submittal; the second re-submittal 08710-001 “Rev. 2”, etc. until this “finish hardware” item is approved.

Submittals not so transmitted will be returned un-reviewed. Re-submissions shall be so noted on the transmittal.

D. The second "finish hardware" submittal (door alarms) sent to the Architect's office for the first time would be 08710-002, etc.

C. Unless noted otherwise on the submittal, all submissions will be considered to be "as specified."

3.02

REQUIRED QUANTITIES OF SUBMITTALS

4.01

SHOP DRAWINGS

A. The following number of originals and copies will be required for each type of submittal:

A. Submit Shop Drawings as bond copies. Blue lines and sepia prints which cannot be reproduced will be returned to the Subcontractor for re-submittal.

5.01

SUBCONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Section number.

A. Before making submittals to Leopardo Companies Inc., review each submittal, make changes or notations as necessary to conform to the Contract Documents, identify such review with review stamp and forward reviewed submittal with comments to Leopardo Companies Inc. for review. Return submittals not meeting contract requirements to Subordinate Parties and do not forward such submittals to Leopardo Companies Inc..

8. Applicable standards such as ASTM or Federal Specification. 9. Identification of deviations from Contract Documents. 10. Reference to construction drawings by drawing number and/or detail number.

F. Submit bond copies without folds either as flat sheets if size permits, or rolled in tubes.

4.02

PRODUCT DATA

C. Notify the Leopardo Companies Inc. and Architect, in writing at time of submission, of deviations in submittals from the requirements of the Contract Documents.

A. Product Data such as catalog cuts, brochures or manufacturer's preprinted sheets may be submitted in lieu of reproducible prints if adequately identified. Submit the required number of copies of product data to the Leopardo Companies Inc..

D. After the Leopardo Companies Inc.'s and Architect's review , [INSERT IF REQUIRED - within one (1) week of receipt] distribute copies to other Subcontractors and supplier/fabricators with one copy to be maintained at the Project Site for reference use.

B. Modify Product Data sheets to delete information that is not applicable to the Project. Provide additional information if necessary to supplement standard information.

E. Do not begin Work which requires submittals until return of submittals with Leopardo Companies Inc.'s and Architect's stamp and initials indicating review.

C. Product Data Sheets that are submitted with extraneous information not deleted and/or modified will be returned without review to the Subcontractor for re-submittal.

F. Subcontractor's responsibility for errors and omissions in submittals is not relieved by Leopardo Companies Inc.'s or Architect's review of submittals.

4.03

SAMPLES

A. Provide physical Samples to illustrate materials, equipment or workmanship, and to establish standards by which completed work may be judged as required by the technical section.

G. Subcontractor's responsibility for deviations in submittals from requirements of Contract Documents is not relieved by Leopardo Companies Inc.'s or Architect's review of submittals unless Leopardo Companies Inc. and Architect give written acceptance of specific deviations. H. Subcontractor shall be responsible for the cost of expediting all deliveries of his materials/equipment to meet the requirements of progress schedule. Should it become necessary, in order to maintain job progress, for Leopardo Companies Inc. to supplement the Subcontractor’s expediting efforts, all such costs incurred by LCI on the Subcontractors behalf, shall be made reimbursable to LCI by the Subcontractor.

B. Provide Office Samples in sufficient size and quantity to clearly illustrate full range of colors, textures, etc. available and the functional characteristics of the product or material.

C. Erect Field Samples or mock-ups as required by the technical sections and/or Leopardo Companies Inc., at the Project site in a location designated by Leopardo Companies Inc.. Construct field samples complete, including Work of all trades required in finishing the Work. Provide Field Samples at the request of the Architect and/or Leopardo Companies Inc. where construction materials and/or methods deviate from the requirements of the intent of the Contract Documents or conventional construction practice.

5.02 LEOPARDO COMPANIES INC.’S RESPONSIBILITIES [EDIT THE FOLLOWING BASED UPON LEOPARDO COMPANIES INC.’S CONTRACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY AND SCOPE OF WORK]

4.04

CERTIFICATIONS

A. Leopardo Companies Inc. will administratively review all submittals and coordinate them with information contained in related documents. Leopardo Companies Inc.’s review is for general administrative purposes only and neither this review, nor any subsequent approval by Leopardo Companies Inc. of a submittal, shall relieve Subcontractor from its obligations to comply fully with the Contract Documents.

A. Provide certifications as required by various technical sections on the Subcontractor's letterhead stationary.

B. Certifications shall clearly identify the materials in reference and shall state that the material and the intended installation methods, where applicable, are in compliance with the Contract Documents for this project. Attach manufacturer's affidavits where applicable.

B. Leopardo Companies Inc. will return to the Subcontractor, without review, all submittals not bearing the Subcontractor's review stamp or not showing it has been reviewed by the Subcontractor.

4.05

WARRANTEES/GUARANTEES

C. Leopardo Companies Inc. will make changes or notations directly on the submittals, identify such review with its review stamp, sign and forward acceptable submittals to the Architect.

A. Provide warrantees and/or guarantees as required by the various technical sections and other Contract Documents on the Subcontractor’s letterhead in accordance with the requirements in Section 01740.

D. After the Architect's review, Leopardo Companies Inc. will forward submittals to the Subcontractor and retain one copy. Subcontractor shall distribute copies with one copy to be maintained at the Project Site for reference use and other copies distributed to suppliers/fabricators. Subcontractor shall supply copies of reviewed submittals to Leopardo Companies Inc. in sufficient quantity to allow proper coordination of the Work.

4.06

OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE MANUALS

A. Provide operating and maintenance manuals/data as required by the various technical sections in accordance with the requirements in Section 01730.
