COORDINATION OF WORK/COOPERATION A. Each Subcontractor shall recognize the complex nature of the Project, the sequential nature of contracts and the concurrent and ongoing operations of the Owner and other subcontractors with the Work of this Project. All Subcontractors are required to review, discuss and coordinate their Work with the Work of other subcontractors as well as Leopardo Companies Inc. with regard to sequence, timing, built-in Work and equipment, layout, location, compatibility of materials and sizes and required clearances prior to beginning the work to avoid construction delays which impact the Owner's occupancy of the facility. Since the Work of each Subcontractor will depend upon interface with the Work of other subcontractors, changes in the scheduling, procedures, Work or Project conditions of a Subcontractor may affect the scheduling procedures, Work or Project conditions of other subcontractors. B. Each Subcontractor shall coordinate construction operations in various sections of the technical specifications to assure efficient and orderly installation of each part of the Work that depends on each other for proper installation, connection, fit and operation. Each Subcontractor shall:

1. Schedule operations in the sequence required to obtain the best results where installation of one part of the Work depends on installation of other components, before or after its own installation.

2. Coordinate installation of different components to assure maximum accessibility for required maintenance, service and repair.

3. Make provisions to accommodate items scheduled for later installation.

4. Provide to all other trades all information (drawings, diagrams, templates, embedment’s, etc.) necessary for the coordination of the Work.

C. The completion of the Project within the prescribed time is dependent upon the close and active cooperation and open discussions of all those involved, therefore, it is expressly understood and agreed that each Subcontractor shall layout and install its Work at such time and in such manner as not to delay or interfere with the carrying forward of the Work of other subcontractors. Observation of the Work by others shall not relieve Subcontractor from its responsibility for coordination, supervision, or scheduling and direction of the Work. D. Subcontractors are to report in a prompt manner any interference, discrepancies or incompatibilities discovered to Leopardo Companies Inc., whose decision as to the Subcontractor at fault and as to the manner in which the matter may be resolved, shall be binding and conclusive on Subcontractors involved. Leopardo Companies Inc. may direct layout/ location changes as required to make the entire work fit together. Reasonable changes of this nature will not entitle any Subcontractor to an increase in contract price. E. Failure of a Subcontractor to notify other subcontractors and Leopardo Companies Inc. of a potential interference, incompatibility, or discrepancy and any failure to coordinate Work with that of other subcontractors prior to installation and/or fabrication shall be at the Subcontractor’s risk.

F. Due to the nature of the Owner's existing areas, the sequence of Work must be scheduled and coordinated with the Owner's ongoing operations to minimize disruptions and/or disturbances to the Owner's Work and

cost and available technology. The Interim Coordination Model will be an evolving and changing representation of the project.

SECTION 01365 3D COORDINATION REQUIREMENTS

D. As each successive sequence of the Super Structure is further defined and enhanced the Super Structure Detailer shall issue completed models. These models will be combined with the Interim Coordination Model to form a Final Coordination Model, which will progressively replace the Interim Coordination Model. The Final Coordination Model shall also include the results of the MEP Coordination.

RELATED DOCUMENTS

A. Upon execution of a Subcontract Agreement, the subcontractors referenced in section 1.01B above shall submit a detailed 3D Coordination Plan to Leopardo Companies, Inc. for review and acceptance. The Plan shall include at a minimum the following information:

A. Attention is directed to Bidding and Contract Requirements, and to Division 1, General Requirements, which are hereby made a part of this Section.

1.

Information required to produce the models

1.02

OVERVIEW

2. The information that will be included in the models 3. The software that will be used to develop the models 4. The import and export file formats available in the modeling software 5. The number and schedule of model issuances 6. The manner in which models will be updated to incorporate changes 7. A definition of unit cost for additional modeling services.

A. Subcontractor shall provide their Design and/or Shop Drawings pursuant to the following 3D Coordination Requirements;

B. Leopardo Companies, Inc. intends to use Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to supplement the construction of this project. This technology shall encompass the use of and furnishing of Three-Dimensional (3D) object models created by subcontractors as per AIA (E202-2008) & IPD guide lines to detail the various building elements that they are furnishing and installing as specified below. All subcontractors cited below are expected to support this effort and provide to Leopardo Companies, Inc. 3D electronic information and detailing associated with their work for design and/or shop drawings complete.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

A. The Super Structure Detailer shall issue models in formats mutually agreed upon with Leopardo Companies, Inc.. It is anticipated that the models may need to be issued in several formats depending on the capabilities of the software used by other subcontractors. B. As a minimum, the models shall be made available in the following formats: CIS/2; IFC; SDNF; DGN; DWG; DXF. The origin of the models shall be set at a mutually agreed location that is well established by relationship to grid lines and finish floor elevations. The Super Structure Detailer shall append to the Base Coordination Model as reference objects available electronic Architectural Floor Plans and Reflected Ceiling Plans at their correct locations relative to the Structure framing. C. The Mechanical Detailer shall be responsible for MEP coordination as described below. The Mechanical Detailer shall be responsible for merging mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and plumbing models with the base Coordination Model thereby creating the Interim Coordination Model. The Mechanical Detailer shall update the Interim Coordination Model in an agreed upon sequence as detailing progresses. The file format of the models provided by the Mechanical Detailer shall be agreed upon with Leopardo Companies, Inc.. It is anticipated that the models may need to be issued in several formats depending on the capabilities of the software used by other subcontractors. As a minimum, the models shall be made available in the following formats: CIS/2; IFC; SDNF; DGN; DWG; DXF. The origin of the models shall be set at a mutually agreed location that is well established by relationship to gridlines and finish floor elevations. The Mechanical Detailer shall identify any changes to ceiling heights and layouts as within the models as MEP Coordination progresses.

C. The following trades are expected to detail the elements that they are furnishing in 3 Dimensional Object Models.

GENERAL PROCESS

A. The general process for implementation of BIM/3D Coordination shall be as follows. Within 4 weeks of award the Super Structure Detailer shall issue a Base Coordination Model that includes all structural framing members in the sizes and locations shown or implied by the structural documents. B. The Base Coordination Model shall be provided to Leopardo Companies, Inc., who will review it with the design team and after review, Leopardo Companies, Inc. will make it available to the rest of the aforementioned subcontractors. These subcontractors shall issue preliminary detailing models showing the size and location of the major elements associated with their trades. The Base Coordination Model shall be used as a platform into which the preliminary models of other trades are incorporated forming an Interim Coordination Model. Leopardo Companies, Inc. may supplement the Interim Coordination Model from time to time with electronic design files and other available information. C. The Interim Coordination Model will be made available to subcontractors for their use by Leopardo Companies, Inc. in an electronic format for viewing and coordination. This availability shall be subject to the limitations of the completeness of design, coordination, and construction as well as the limitations of

D. Each subcontractor shall follow the versioning, partitioning, and naming conventions determined by Leopardo Companies, Inc.
