dampers and shall note any items requiring access for service and maintenance as well as access doors in inaccessible ceilings. Drawings shall also show the size, layout and routing of all metal and flex ductwork, re-heat coils, terminal units, filters, and major hangers and supports. Subcontractor shall provide notation for diffuser boot sizes and heights and any other special features. Subcontractor shall provide cross sections and additional details through areas where clearances are tight and further detail as appropriate and/or required. Where piping or ductwork has external insulation, Subcontractor shall note or show locations and thickness. Subcontractor shall indicate bottom elevation of duct, pipes and equipment and elevation changes, to be measured to the lowest point including insulation and hangers where applicable. E. In areas where no HVAC work occurs, but where other mechanical and electrical installations are installed, the HVAC Subcontractor will issue or note on AutoCAD backgrounds indicating "No HVAC Work Required". F. Within fifteen (15) working days of issuance of the AutoCAD backgrounds, the HVAC Subcontractor shall have completed layout drawings and provide to Leopardo Companies Inc. six (6) prints for the first scheduled area. HVAC contractor will overlay structural backgrounds for each floor of the building and indicate bottom of structure elevations. At this time all Subcontractors shall attend a Coordination Kick-Off Meeting at which time the first distribution of HVAC prints is made and procedures and schedule are reviewed. G. As layout drawings for HVAC Work for subsequent areas are completed, the HVAC Subcontractor shall provide six (6) prints of the completed layout drawings to Leopardo Companies Inc.. Leopardo Companies Inc. will in turn distribute one (1) prints and the AutoCAD files to each required Subcontractor to include Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical Work. Respective Subcontractors shall then layout their own routings on the AutoCAD backgrounds previously provided. Drawings shall include other major items such as valves, access panels, switch panels, pull boxes also noting items requiring access for service and maintenance, etc. as well as access doors in inaccessible ceilings.

[THIS SECTION IS NORMALLY NOT REQUIRED UNLESS SPECIFICALLY REQUIRED BY CONTRACT OR THE NATURE OF THE PROJECT REQUIRES THE BIDDERS TO USE THIS INFORMATION AS A PART OF THE CONTRACT CONDITIONS] [REVIEW WITH THE ARCHITECT AND OWNER WHAT BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND/OR CADD DISKS WILL BE FURNISHED TO THE SUBCONTRACTORS TO ASSIST THEM IN DEVELOPING THEIR DRAWINGS. IF THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER IS TO CHARGE FOR CADD DISKS OR MYLARS, THAT SHOULD BE SPELLED OUT IN THIS SECTION] [THIS SECTION IS NOT REQUIRED IF THE PROJECT IS USING 3D MODELING. THE COORDINATION REQUIREMENTS ARE SELF CONTAINED WITHIN THE 3D MODELING SECTION LOCATED IN 01365 ABOVE]
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS
A. Attention is directed to Bidding and Contract Requirements, and to Division 1, General Requirements, which are hereby made a part of this Section.
1.02
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
G. Subcontractor if required by its Work scope, shall be responsible for developing coordination drawings and participating in coordination meetings as defined herein, and shall have included the cost for such Work in its Bid Proposal. H. Coordination Drawings shall be utilized to establish installation sequence, resolve trade coordination issues prior to installation and to make the most efficient use of space allocated for systems such as mechanical/electrical/plumbing installations without sacrifice to systems performance. This is also required to determine inter-relationships and possible interference’s between all of the trades' Work and the architectural or structural features. I. Subcontractors are required to attend coordination meetings as required by Leopardo Companies Inc.. The representative(s) from each Subcontractor is required to be familiar with the Work and have the expertise and authority to answer questions and make decisions and changes to its systems at these meetings.
H. Information for specific trades is required but not limited to the following:
1. Plumbing - Size, layout and routing of piping, valves, boxes, sleeve locations, supports, etc., for all utilities regardless of material size. Show or note all pipe sizes and working clearances around valves, etc. For pitched piping, identify bottom elevations at key points and at least every column line. Note thickness and location of all external insulation. Bottom elevations shall be measured to the lowest point including hangers and insulation where applicable. 2. Sprinkler Piping - Size, layout and routing of mains and branch piping, sleeve locations, hanger and supports, valves, working clearances, and bottom of pipe and bottom of hanger support elevations. Sprinkler head locations shall be shown on ceiling plans. For pitched piping, identify bottom elevation at key points and at least at every column line. 3. Electrical - Size, sleeve locations, layout and routing and size of conduit and wire 2" or larger for normal and emergency power distribution systems, 1-1/2" or larger for communication systems telephone, security, etc., include all systems specified in Division 17 , boxes larger than 4" x 4" x 4", hangers, supports, and electrical fixtures including lights, speakers, detectors, sensors, cable trays, raceways, etc. Size and clearance of ceiling and above ceiling mounted items shall be noted as a depth from finished ceiling to top of fixture or top of clear area required. Provide bottom elevations of conduits and equipment. Bottom elevation shall be measured from the lowest point, including hangers.
J. The coordination drawings may also be used by Subcontractor as part of its required shop drawing and as-built drawing submittals.
K. Each Bidder should anticipate that each floor may require several meetings. However, in the interest of time, multiple floors or areas may be reviewed in one meeting. Development of coordination drawings will be by area and floor with order of priority established by Leopardo Companies Inc..

COORDINATION DRAWING PROCESS
D. Leopardo Companies Inc., after the award of the Agreements, will obtain AutoCAD backgrounds of the Structural, Reflected Ceiling and Architectural floor plans of the Project from the Architect/Engineer. Leopardo Companies Inc. will provide these AutoCAD backgrounds to the Subcontractors involved. The HVAC Subcontractor, following an HVAC coordination kick-off meeting, shall immediately begin Work and prepare 1/4" scale layout drawings of all ductwork and piping. These drawings shall also show registers, grilles, diffusers, and similar features. Subcontractor shall include locations of all valves,
Within four (4) feet of all panels, or areas where more than 4 conduits, regardless of size, are routed or grouped together, identify an easement or right-of-way for the groups of conduit.
Also show all wall mounted items located within 12" of the ceiling plane, and show all access panels required.

L. The HVAC drawings need not be submitted as a whole, but they shall be submitted in all cases per Leopardo Companies Inc.'s project master construction schedule and in ample time to avoid construction delays. The coordination drawings of all trades may lack complete data in certain instances pending receipt of shop drawings, but sufficient space shall be allotted for the affected items. When final information is received, such data shall be promptly inserted on the final drawings. M. No extra compensation will be paid for relocating any duct, pipe, conduit, or other material that has been installed without proper coordination between all Subcontractors involved. If any improperly coordinated Work, or Work installed that is not in accordance with the approved coordination composites, necessitates additional Work by the other Subcontractors, the costs of all such additional Work shall be solely borne by the Subcontractor responsible.
I. All Subcontractors, including HVAC Subcontractor, within ten (10) working days of issuance of HVAC AutoCAD files, shall be prepared to attend coordination meetings as required by Leopardo Companies Inc.. Two business days prior to each coordination meeting, all subcontractors will forward their complete AutoCAD shop drawings for the area under coordination to LCI and the HVAC contractor for compositing. HVAC contractor will composite all other MEP related trades’ drawing files as collected and forwarded by LCI from other subcontractors. Subcontractors shall come to meetings with two prints of their work . Subcontractors, at the meeting, will work to review and overlay the different trades to identify and resolve interference’s and coordination problems. Following the meeting, Subcontractors shall revise their AutoCAD shop drawings, if necessary, based upon the agreed changes and be prepared to meet again within five (5) working days of the first coordination meeting as scheduled by Leopardo Companies Inc.. J. When the coordination drawings have been fully revised with no exceptions taken by respective Subcontractors, including the HVAC Subcontractor, the Subcontractors shall sign them, indicating their awareness of and agreement with the indicated routings, elevations, layouts and their inter-relationship with the adjoining or continuous Work of all Project contracts. Thereafter, no unauthorized deviations from the information provided will be permitted, and if made without the knowledge or agreement of the Architect and Leopardo Companies Inc., this unauthorized Work will be subject to removal and correction at no additional cost to the Owner or the Leopardo Companies Inc.. K. Within three (3) Days of the signing of the coordination drawings, each Subcontractor shall provide Leopardo Companies Inc. with eight (8) prints of their portion of the coordinated shop drawings for the submittal to the Architect/Engineer/Owner.
N. All changes in the Scope of Work due to revisions formally issued and approved shall be shown on that trade's final drawings and thoroughly coordinated with the other trades.
O. All Work on the coordination composite drawings shall be performed by competent draftsmen and shall be clear and fully legible. Leopardo Companies Inc. shall be sole judge of the acceptability of the drawings. All drawings shall be drawn dimensionally and graphically correct.
P. In general and before the first meeting the following guidelines shall be followed:
1. All trades shall coordinate with the Electrical Subcontractor for the size, height and clearance requirements for recessed or semi recessed light fixtures, recessed speakers/detectors, and other electrical ceiling devices.
2. Sprinkler heads shall be centered in the center of lay-in ceiling tiles unless approved shop drawings note otherwise.

EXECUTION
H. In the preparation of all coordination drawings, 1/2" scale details as well as cross and longitudinal sections are required to fully delineate all conditions. Particular attention shall be given to the locations, size and clearance dimensions of equipment items, shafts, corridors and similar features. I. After completion of the final coordination drawings, minor changes in duct, pipe or conduit routings that do not affect the intended function may be made as required to avoid space conflicts, when mutually agreed to by all parties involved. However, items may not be re-sized or exposed items relocated without Leopardo Companies Inc.'s written approval. No changes shall be made by Subcontractors in any wall or chase locations, ceiling heights, door swings or locations, windows or other openings, or other features affecting the function or aesthetic effect of the building. If conflicts or interference’s cannot be satisfactorily resolved, Subcontractors shall notify Leopardo Companies Inc. who will, in turn, obtain a decision from the Architect. J. Other Subcontractors responsible for supplementary composite drawings, as indicated herein, shall make similar distribution to that described in item 1.03 Paragraph E. All trades desiring additional prints of such drawings, beyond the basic distribution indicated above, shall arrange for and pay the cost of same. K. Record copies of final drawings shall be retained by Leopardo Companies Inc. and each Subcontractor as working reference. All shop drawings, prior to their submittal to Leopardo Companies Inc. shall be compared with the final drawings and developed accordingly by the Subcontractor responsible. Any revision to the drawings which may become necessary during the progress of the Work shall be noted to and by all Subcontractors and shall be neatly and accurately recorded on the record copies. Each Subcontractor shall be responsible for the up-to-date maintenance of its own record copies of the final drawings, and any subsequent changes thereto shall be utilized by Leopardo Companies Inc. and each Subcontractor in the development of As-Built/Record drawings described in Section 01720 of the Project Manual.
3. All elevations shall be based on height above finished floor using established benchmarks.
4. Standard suspended ceiling systems requires 3" minimum clearance for materials and installation.
5. Review of other drawings may be necessary in areas such as Detention cells, raised floors, etc. for special structural and suspended equipment requirements.
6. All trades to hang work as high as possible in above ceiling areas, allowing access to equipment for maintenance, repairs, connections, filters and removal without demolition of other Work.
Q. Coordination drawings submitted during this process are not considered shop drawing submittals. The coordination drawings may be part of the required shop drawing submittal, but are made separate from the distribution specified in this section.
