Advanced Pico Scope Techniques 2/15/20, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Class #106, Amway Grand View Many technicians use a 4-channel Pico Scope. This scope is very powerful with advanced features and impressive capabilities, which will be demonstrated in this class. Some of the features covered will include the following: advanced triggering, reference waveforms, math channels, custom probe creation and serial decoding. A detailed handout will be provided. Presented By: Pro-Tech Auto Speaker: John Thornton DIAGNOSTICS Advanced Domestic Driveability Case Studies 2/15/20, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Class #117, DeVos Gallery Overlook A This class will focus on the diagnostic path used to determine root cause failures for many puzzling vehicle problems. The class will show the step- by-step process that was used during testing to conclude the cause of the customer issue. Each vehicle will illustrate the need for detailed scan tool and scope testing to eliminate the need for replacement parts in order to effectively diagnose and repair each vehicle. This class will not cover lab scope basics and is intended for veteran driveability technicians. What we’ll cover: • Engine mechanical testing with lab scopes and transducers • Using current probes to enhance testing • Advantages of eight-channel lab scope analysis Presented By: MB Automotive Speaker: Scot Manna DRIVEABILITY

How do you balance taking care of a customer on the phone and the customer right in front of you? How do you close the sale on parts you have to source? What outside resources can you use to capture the sale? Join Robert and friends to learn about methods, scripts, and processes to help you increase your sales through a philosophy of “Never Say No” to opportunities. Presented By: Auto-Wares Speaker: Robert Stone Variable Camshaft Timing Diag. 2/15/20, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m. Class #217, DeVos Gallery Overlook A This class will cover theory and operation of variable camshaft phasing systems used on to- day’s engines. The theory behind these systems will be covered first, followed by the process of testing the types of problems that can plague these systems. Both scan tool and scope testing strategies will be discussed. A comprehensive testing plan will be illustrated using multi-trace lab scopes to analyze system operation and make correct decisions on what can cause these systems to set codes. Vehicle case studies will be shown to reinforce the concepts discussed in class. This class will provide attendees with a base of knowledge to tackle problems with this common engine system seen in all manufactur- ers’ engines today.
