34 Years of Youth Choir Excellence- An Ongoing Capital City Legacy
Trenton Children’s Chorus has so much to feel proud of. Founded in 1989 as “Covenant Singers” by the extraordinary Sue Ellen Page and a cadre of dedicated people at Nassau Presbyterian Church, the dream of a vibrant youth choir in the Capital City caught fire in the hearts of families both in and outside of Trenton. From wide-eyed fidgety kindergarteners, up to proud, poised high school singers who have so much to share with us and the world: Trenton Children’s Chorus has inspired people throughout the state and the region with its demonstration of the power and beauty of young people’s voices. In December of 2022, Trenton Children's Chorus was proud to perform at Union Baptist Church, after being named the recipient of the church's annual Christmas Stocking donation. Our middle and high school students went on to perform that same day at the Trenton War Memorial with the Capital Philharmonic in the American Repertory Ballet's production of The Nutcracker. In February of 2023, all choirs took part in a Black History Month Concert at Artworks in Trenton, that included a collaboration with local visual artist and poet, Phillip McConnell, as well as a collaboration with Union Baptist Church's Gospel Choir.
