HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY 2023 FAITH RENEWED AND MILES CONQUERED
Nearly every single week, we experience a moment that has a lasting effect on our lives. We often don’t think about it at the time. Our day-to-day lives keep us so busy that we don’t have the time or focus to reflect on these moments and how they change our lives for the better or worse. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy the end of the year so much. When those final few days of the year arrive, we usually have extra free time to reflect on everything that happened during the past 12 months. 2023 was another year full of ups and downs, but it’s always best to focus on the positives. “The end of the year is a great time to reflect on all your accomplishments, but it’s also the best opportunity to set the stage for next year.” When reflecting on everything that has happened during the past year, two significant occurrences brought me pride, joy, and excitement. The first event was very personal and helped bring me closer to my faith. In April, I decided to get baptized in an effort to renew my spirit and faith. I’ve always felt close to God but wasn’t baptized when I was younger; instead, I received a sprinkling of Holy Water. I felt like I was undergoing some life changes and needed a fresh start. I wanted to be fully submerged during my baptism to keep God at the center of my life and overcome any new challenges.
to defeat the obstacles in our path. However, we should rely more on God, as he can solve all our problems. I know I’m on the righteous path now that I’ve given my life to Christ. The other experience I’m proud of put my physical abilities to the test. One of my good friends was putting together a relay team and asked me to join. It required me to run around 5 or 6 miles, and I eagerly accepted his invitation. I spent the next few weeks training and working out to ensure I could complete my section of the race. Unfortunately, when the week of the race arrived, our plans changed. We discovered we didn’t have enough people to compete in the relay, but I wasn’t going to let my training go to waste. I pivoted to a different event and decided to race a half-marathon instead. A half- marathon was more than double the distance I originally planned to run, which made the experience even more challenging. I had never done this before; it tested my strength and faith. While I might not have had the fastest time, I did finish the half-marathon, and for that, I couldn’t be prouder! The end of the year is a great time to reflect on all your accomplishments, but it’s also the best opportunity to set the stage for next year. Now is the time to make some goals and put them into action. In 2024, I hope to become a better leader for my team and my family. I also hope to get more involved with the community and provide assistance wherever help is needed!
I hope you all have a fantastic end to your 2023 and a successful start to 2024!
So far, it’s been a great experience renewing my faith. We go through many difficult challenges in life, and too many rely solely on ourselves

As you age, you likely see dark spots underneath your eyes. Luckily, dark circles aren’t typically a cause of concern, but you may want to lighten their appearance. Here’s everything you need to know about what causes dark circles and how to treat them. While aging is a common cause of dark circles, other factors could also cause shades of blue, purple, brown, or black to appear under your eyes, including: • Genetics: Many medical professionals say dark circles could run in your family, meaning you’re prone to have the condition as you age. • Dermatitis: If you’ve suffered from eczema or contact dermatitis, it can cause blood vessels under your eyes to dilate and become visible. • Excessive Rubbing: Sometimes, your eyelids itch! But rubbing or scratching them too much can cause your eyes to swell and the blood vessels under your eyes to break. • Dehydration: If you’re not getting enough H 2 O, the lack of water can make the skin under your eyes appear dull. How can you treat dark circles? Although dark circles are inconvenient, there are treatment options available to you that you can use in the comfort of your own home! • Head elevation: When asleep, fluid can collect under your eyes, making the skin appear puffy and dark. Using pillows to further elevate your head can prevent this fluid buildup and shrink dark circles. • Cucumbers: While you mainly 10 People to Thank 3 Home Remedies for Dark Under-Eye Circles
Buying a home is one of the most significant decisions and purchases most of us will make in our lives. In many cases, you have to trust the process to your real estate agent, which can elicit feelings of relief and concern. They may put offers in on homes for you, recommend specific home inspectors, and point you toward homes in neighborhoods more suited to your needs. You must trust your agent, but too often, we talk with clients who want to sue their real estate agents for fraud. However, in many cases, the real estate agent has done everything they were obligated to do, and the homeowners failed to notice or take action. Real estate agents have an affirmative duty to disclose any issues they see wrong with the house to the potential buyer. If the agent knows something is wrong with the house but fails to disclose it, they could be in trouble further down the road. Unless the real estate agent knows the current homeowners or their attorney, they likely won’t know something is wrong with the house before they enter it. That’s why almost every real estate agent recommends that potential buyers get a home inspection before purchasing. Even if your agent doesn’t suggest a home inspection, you should get one anyway. Once you get a home inspection, it’s up to you to read through it. Ideally, the inspector or your real estate agent will go through it with you, but that doesn’t always happen. The home inspection report effectively informs you of anything wrong with the home. If the home inspection found the foundation was damaged or a structural engineer needed to inspect it, it would be almost impossible to sue for foundation issues after closing. Get a home inspection, read through it, and address any problems before closing. If your real estate agent or someone else is encouraging you to forgo a home inspection to improve your chances of getting the house, it might be best to look elsewhere. When you don’t get an inspection, you can’t discover any problems with the house, leaving you in a bad situation if any issues arise. Don’t Forgo a Home Inspection BUYER BEWARE

There are also medicinal treatments available to help remove dark circles permanently. DON’T LET YOUR TEEN GET SCAMMED: A GUIDE TO SAFE CONCERT TICKET PURCHASES
Safety Tips Every Buyer Needs to Follow While you may know the tried-and-true signs of an illegitimate listing or scammer, your teen may not. Meanwhile, even the most seasoned concertgoers receive impressively realistic (yet fake) tickets and show up at the venue just to be turned away. For everyone to stay safe, there are some essential rules you should follow when purchasing tickets online.
Is your teen ecstatic to purchase concert tickets for the first time? While they may be ready to hand over their savings to get front- row seats to Olivia Rodrigo or Ariana Grande, they should be well-informed on how to safely purchase tickets. With digital tickets now being the primary format for stadium events, selling counterfeit tickets is easier than ever. According to the Better Business Bureau, reports of ticket scams have spiked from 13,168 to 16,762 from 2020 to 2022. With top-selling music artists going on tour recently, including Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, scammers have taken advantage of younger, inexperienced ticket buyers. These online swindlers use social media like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to offer ticket deals that are too good to be true.
•
Never purchase tickets through an individual on social media or Craigslist. If buying from a person, only do so from someone you know, like a friend, coworker, or relative. Don’t buy tickets with peer-to-peer payment services such as Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp. If the purchase is a scam, these platforms don’t have buyer protection like credit cards. Make sure the section and seat number really exist at the venue.

Always buy tickets from official websites and double-check that the URL is correct. Some scammers create look-alike sites to fool buyers. If buying tickets from a resale site, ensure they are part of the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB), which confirms they are legitimate.
If you and your teen follow these tips, you can ensure they are safely spending their money and will actually see the show of their dreams!
