When questioned re improved performance, as compared to its last start 10th of 10 at Terang, stable rep indicated that the stable were at a loss to explain last start’s performance and noted that they had the gelding vetted on return to the stable with no abnormalities found. He added the stable were of the opinion the gelding does not perform well on softer tracks and appreciated today’s Good 4 track conditions. CAUL 04/05/2024 Outside barrier was shifted in behind runners in early stages. HAWK 04/05/2024 Slow to begin and was crowded for room after the start. Rider John Allen reported after his mount was slow to begin he settled further back than anticipated. J Allen added the gelding was not suited by the moderate tempo. A post-race endoscopy detected a degree of internal exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage that may have affected the gelding’s racing performance.SANH 25/05/2024
