It has been an unforgettable championship season in the Major peewee division for the Casselman- Embrun Ice Dogs. They finished the 2015-2016 season as both the playoffs and league champion club in the Ottawa B Minor Hockey League (OBMHL). That includes an OBMHL regular season game record of 24-2-4 with 118 goals for the team and 47 goals scored against them, and a playoffs record of 7-2-4 with 38 goals for the Ice Dogs and 20 against them from their opponents. The team also finished as the Hockey Eastern Ontario-Minor (HEO) peewee branch champions with game record of 5-0, including 18 goals for the club and four against. The Ice Dogs are ranked Number One of more than 250 teams in the Ontario Peewee 03 B/C/D/AE/MD class with championship trophies from tournaments in Smith Falls, ON and Jay Peak, Vermont, plus finalist’s placings in the Cumberland Grads Volunteer Cup and the Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, tournaments. The club also takes pride in helping raise $105 this year for juvenile diabetes research while hosting the HEO-Minor Branch Championship, and Ice Dog Maxime Breault will march in the 2016 Telus Walk in Ottawa on June 12. – Gregg Chamberlain
