The Core of Liberty Inspection Group GROWING OUR NETWORK

A t Liberty Inspection Group, we don’t care if you replace your roof. This might sound a bit harsh, but let me explain. When we inspect the roof on your building — or any other part, for that matter — we won’t make a profit off you paying for a replacement or repairs. Instead, the service you pay for is our opinion about the condition of the building we are inspecting, and since our end goal isn’t to sell you something, you can expect total honesty. Our mission statement even says that we strive “to offer building consultant services to the real estate community that provide both a successful transaction for agents and an honest assessment of property for buyers.”

Often, inspection companies are just one guy operating out of his truck, who may have been a contractor at some point. The only real help this guy gets is when his wife pitches in sometimes, but for the most part, his clients or prospective customers are bound by his schedule. Because of the limited time and small operation, most inspectors only offer basic inspections. Rarely do clients get more in-depth details about the issues and potential problems in their buildings. At Liberty Inspection Group, instead of just a person and their truck, we have many inspectors. We are a network and a team of inspectors, each dedicated to the same mission our company was founded on. Our customers can always get in touch with their inspector. We have a wide range of services, including radon tests and stucco inspections, and we have experience inspecting all varieties of buildings. Regardless of what we are doing, we always encourage our clients to join us on the inspections. You see what we see, and you learn more about your structure as we go. But what really makes us stand out is our relationships. Our clients are residential/ commercial buyers, but our partners are you in the real estate industry. We do all we can to make sure that relationship stays strong. Agents know they can rely on us to do a quality job because it's what we have done for them since the very beginning. Even better, because of these reputable relationships we have built, we have expanded our network of professionals. We recommend contractors who will be honest with you and your clients, not one who is just looking to sell a roof. For the past 12 years, we have cared about safety. We care about making sure buildings are safe per the standards we inspect to, and we care about giving you and your clients all the facts before they make a decision. It's what we have been committed to since we first opened, and as we have grown, it's what we have remained dedicated to doing. –-Chris Earley

We have developed that reputation, and people value our third-party opinion. You can always expect honesty from us.

When you consider the norm for most inspectors, Liberty Inspection Group is fairly unique. I often tell people that when they work with us, they are partnering with an actual business and a system, not an inspector in a truck. The way we do our jobs is quite different.

GOOD AS NEW Should You Inspect Your Newly Constructed Home?

Purchasing a newly built home can be a lot like buying a new car — it even has that new smell! But unlike cars, newly built homes don’t have quality control checks that are standard on assembly lines. This means catching mistakes in the building process can be difficult and leave buyers with future costly and dangerous damages. Learn why home inspections on newly constructed homes can be vital below. What does the inspector look for? With new construction, a fair assumption is that everything is in top condition and move-in ready, but acting on this assumption can be dangerous. In fact, the following issues can be common for new homes. • Human Errors: Even the most competent contractor isn’t immune to errors. A second set of eyes to examine their work can ensure the home is safe for future families. • Termites: That new home smell is alluring to termites, who are extremely efficient at finding wood. An inspection can eliminate any fears and provide information for further monitoring. • Radon: Because new homes’ walls are so tight, there’s little room for air to escape. This is great for insulation, but the dangerous compound radon will

struggle to escape. In fact, we often find higher levels of radon in new homes than old ones!

When should you have an inspection? We suggest three times for a new home inspection: pre-drywall, post-drywall, and just prior to the end of the home’s warranty. In the pre-drywall stage, the electrical, plumbing, and framework are visible, which makes spotting any mistakes easy. After the drywall is completed, an inspector can catch any defects that may have been missed by the contractor. Mistakes caught in this phase can be easily fixed, and most contractors will be more than willing to correct errors. Lastly, encouraging your homebuyers to get their home inspected prior to the warranty ending can save them headaches and money. If anything covered by the warranty is caught in this phase, homeowners will be grateful for this piece of advice. A new home is exciting, especially when your buyers are the home’s first occupants. Make sure you are selling a quality home with an inspection by Liberty Inspection Group. Learn more by visiting LibertyInspectionGroup.com or visit our blog for more helpful tips.

ICELAND

As the scorching summer sun beats down, it’s hard to remember that just six months ago you were shivering through the winter, whether that meant a chilly 50 F or bitter subzero temperatures. But if cooler temps sound like paradise and a dip in the pool is no longer keeping you cool, it might be time to take a vacation somewhere chilly. Check out these three destinations to avoid the summer heat. ALASKA No place says chilly quite like Alaska. Trips to Alaska can be expensive during this time of year, but when you step into that crisp air with a cool mountainous view, you’ll understand why it’s a popular summer voyage. Travelers can choose to fly or take a cruise ship, and many cities feature tourism-packed excursions. A few notable locations include Anchorage, the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, and Denali National Park and Preserve.

Just as its name suggests, Iceland can be the perfect destination for travelers yearning to get away from the unbearable summer heat. With temperatures rarely exceeding 60 F — the average high for the country — packing is easy for this relaxing vacation. Take a relaxing dip in one of the country’s many hot springs or enjoy tremendous views of the fjords. Even better, you can tour the country at any time because it’s sunny almost 24 hours a day. What could be better than a midnight hike around the fourth happiest country in the world? NORWAY Just because it's summer doesn’t mean you have to give up your skiing hobby! Venture off to Norway and experience some of their most popular summer ski resorts. After a day or two shredding the slopes, experience the popular Norwegian Opera and Ballet in Oslo or choose between numerous outdoor and indoor exhibitions. Best of all, you won’t even break a sweat, as the average temperature in Norway’s hottest month barely hits 70 F. Bordering Sweden and northern Finland, Norway can even be the beginning to a cool European tour this summer.
