ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS SA Tennis Championships Eli W, Nate W, Seema M and Alyssa N all competed in the School Sport SA (State) Individual Tennis Championships in March. At the competition in the Year 7/8 cohort, there were approximately 50 tennis players. Eli played 2 games and successfully reached the quarter finals. He played against a 4th seeded player but due to the interruption of the rain, the game ended, and the final score was 4-1 to Eli’s opponent. Nate played 5 games in the minor round and successfully won 4 of these games. As a result, he reached the quarter finals. Unfortunately, Nate was defeated by his opponent 6-4. Alyssa and Seema both faced extremely tough opponents in the first round (those two eventually finished 2nd and 3rd), so subsequently played in the Challenge Round. They both still enjoyed the experience as they learned a lot about their own games. Well done, what an achievement for all to compete in the School Sport SA (State) Individual Tennis Championships. It was also very exciting to hear Year 7 student Eli was invited by Sandon Stolle (once ranked No. 2 in world doubles) to train with the State U12 Tennis Squad (approx. 8 players are in the squad)! Congratulations Eli on this significant achievement. Congratulations also to his family, as without their support and investment, these standards are rarely reached.
