We support tenants with the cost of living, debt, welfare benefits and returning to work or training.
Our Youth Elevate programme provides one-to-one coaching and three-month work placements for 16 to 24- year-olds in Manchester, funded by GMCA.
This year we also launched and fund Southway Academy - a four-week programme to help residents gain valuable skills and experience by working alongside teams across our departments. Since April 2025, we have: Helped tenants claim almost £1.1m in unclaimed benefits. £410,000 of this was financial gains for tenants aged 65+ Opened 378 cases to help tenants claim benefits, maximise entitlements and access advocacy services Helped 70 tenants with employment support (CV writing, job applications, interview coaching and job seeking) Celebrated 30 people getting back into work – 11 tenants and 19 wider residents. Secured 20 young people work placements in departments across Southway Seen 8 residents complete Southway Academy with one securing a permanent position at M&S and two applying for roles within Southway Handed out £1770+ in energy vouchers and £660+ in cash vouchers to tenants £3000 from our Orange Blossom Fund provided families with supermarket vouchers through the summer holidays. An additional £1,500 funded essential household items like white goods and beds.
