It has come a little later than some of you may have been expecting but I am excited to launch the Tasmanian Hospitality Association, Awards for Excellence Nomination Guide for 2023. Our gala awards night continues to be one of the highlights on the Tasmanian hospitality calendar, providing an important time for representatives to come together to celebrate everything wonderful our industry offers. We have been working hard in the background on the nomination categories for this year ’ s awards, with the main focus on acknowledging some of the supremely talented individuals within the industry, as well aligning some of the categories with our
Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence. At last year ’ s nationals in November we had five businesses take home top honours, a fantastic achievement which demonstrates the outstanding quality of hospitality the state possesses and just reward for the efforts everyone has put in to emerge from the Covid - 19 era. I hope the 2023 Awards for Excellence is an occasion to look forward to for you and your staff, we have moved the awards evening from May to later in the year and more details around the gala night will be communicated soon. Given the changes to some nomination categories and addition of others, please read this nomination guide carefully. I encourage you to consider nominating your business in the relevant categories to highlight and celebrate your achievements during the past 12 months. The THA Awards for Excellence are respected and valued as a hallmark of the premium hospitality experience Tasmanians and tourists have come to know and expect and, as always, the THA Awards for Excellence winners will not only be crowned Tasmania ’ s best in each respective category, but they will also have the opportunity to represent their home state at the 2023 AHA National Awards, which will take place in Adelaide in November. Keep an eye out for when tickets for our dinner go on sale – it is not to be missed.
I wish everyone the best of luck.
