The construction industry is essential for our local economy and has been identified as a priority sector for Lancashire. Currently there is a huge skills shortage in the industry, with construction being placed in the top five sectors requiring employees. We have seen a boom in construction applications at Preston College, with additional classes and female only multi skills courses added to meet both demand and customer feedback. Our Level 1 courses are ideal for individuals looking to enhance their DIY skills, or learn the basics of a trade alongside a full-time job, as well as those considering a complete career change. For those already working in the industry, we offer a wide range of qualifications, including Level 2 and 3 Diplomas, NVQ competence
Preston College offers a hybrid learning approach to enable students to fit their studies around existing work and family
commitments. This flexible approach includes weekly practical teaching sessions held in college, alongside online guided self-study, relating to the theoretical elements of the course.
