CHARLOTTE HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE
Charlotte decided to pursue a Level 3 Health and Social Care Certificate in order to help her to progress into an Allied Health or Social Sciences career, with the ultimate aspiration to become a diagnostic radiographer. On this course, exploring patient care practices, equality, diversity, and psychology, as well as learning about different theories on human behaviours, growth and development, has allowed Charlotte to develop the essential skills and knowledge to get ahead in this dynamic industry. “Guided by supportive tutors at Preston College, I have learnt how to deliver high-quality health and social care, how to be a good healthcare professional, as well as recognising and addressing poor practice. I am really enjoying my time at Preston College, it has a modern and supportive environment, which has enhanced my learning experience, motivating me to continue expanding my knowledge in this area.”
MEET THE TUTOR
DAWN COURSE LEADER FOR ADULT HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE AND WELLBEING Dawn, course leader for the Adult Health, Social Care and Wellbeing provision, teaches on Level 1 through to Level 5 courses. After studying BA (Hons) Theatre and Media, she developed a passion for using her skills in both drama and therapy, and embarked on a career in person centred counselling achieving a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling. This led onto specialising in supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental ill health, and completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). With extensive experience of working in Further Education and Higher Education, Dawn has a real passion for the health and social care sector and preparing students with the skills they need to flourish working within the sector. Dawn comments, “At Preston College, there is an opportunity to begin at Level 1 and progress up to Level 5 on a suite of qualifications tailored on developing the skills needed for a career in the health and social care sector. We offer interactive teaching and learning with experienced staff providing courses as a stepping stone into employment or for those looking to build on current knowledge and understanding and to progress into higher level roles.”
