PROJECT FUNDING Preston College, in partnership with Preston City Council, is offering fully funded training through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) to support skills development and career advancement for Preston residents. This initiative provides access to qualifications and webinars aimed at enhancing business skills, supporting local business growth, and meeting Preston’s evolving economic needs. The funding from Preston City Council will support several key projects:
GREEN SKILLS The Green Skills project specialises in the delivery of green skills courses to those living in Preston City and employed within the construction sector, to support the transition
towards a net zero economy. Training will be centred around design & surveying retrofit, air source heat pump installation, hybrid vehicles, photovoltaic panel installation and managing net zero & sustainability.

TRAINING TO UPSKILL PEOPLE IN EMPLOYMENT This project is designed for employed and self-employed residents of Preston City Council who are looking for training and qualifications to advance their career within their chosen role. Available opportunities include training in team leading, leadership & management, managing change, project management, performance management, and business relations. The fund also supports Preston-based employers seeking to upskill their employees who reside within the Preston City Council area,

LOCAL SKILLS FUND The Local Skill Fund bridges some of the current gaps in adult funding, presenting an opportunity for Preston City Council residents to develop their potential and achieve eligible Level 2 or 3 qualifications, within high demand sectors. Courses that attract funding include Health & Social Care, Construction, Engineering, Professional Business Services, Accounting and Health & Safety.
