The Bible Institute

of Los Angeles

O N June 10, 1948, 183 Christian young people received their diplomas from The Bible Institute of Los Angeles. O f these, 156, 41 men and 115 women, completed the regular Bible courses; and 27, 7 men and 20 women, gradu ated from the School of Missionary Medicine, The moving baccalaureate sermon was preached by Dr. Charles L. Feinberg of the Dallas Theological Seminary of Dallas, Texas, oh the subject, "Guard the Citadel," on the 6th of June. Dr. G. Kearnie Keegan, Pastor of the Temple Baptist Church of Los Angeles, delivered a powerful gradua tion address on the theme: "God-Sent." Ranging in ages from 20 to 30 years, and representing 25 states and 2 foreign countries, many of these young people are already definitely committed to Christian service at home and abroad. Appointed to foreign fields are 49 women and 16 men; 29 women and 17 men will serve in the homeland;

49 women and 15 men have enrolled for additional education. The remainder of the graduates are undecided as to their next step. O f the graduates of the School of Missionary Med icine, 8 are going to Africa; I to Mexico; 5 to India; 9 to Latin America and I to China; 5 are entering the Wycliffe School of Linguistics and 5 will take further training. Class President was Keith Bentson; Vice-President, William Siemens; Secretary, Anna Ramey; Treasurer, Celia Shumaker; Class Speaker, George Peek; Men's Speaker, William N. Richards; Women's Speaker, Marjorie Lampman; Class Poet, Stephen Leetham; and Class Musician, Margaret Bascom. There is no question but that these young people are seri ous about the prayer expressed in their Class Motto, "O rder M y Steps." They believe that as God has led them hitherto, so He will continue to direct their feet into His ways for their lives and service. May His richest blessing attend each young life and make it fruitful for Him!
