MAY 30 Faith and Faithfulness “ They which he o f faith are blessed with faithful Abraham” (Gal. 3:9). A consecrated life is one that springs from faith having done its part, so that the man receives into his soul whatever God has been pleased to offer to him, and rejoices with “joy unspeakable and full of glory,” in this provision which the A l mighty has now made for him in Christ Jesus. But as he steps away from the place where God visited him, to give him these blessings, first for his own enjoy ment and delight, then the very next mo ment he has to exhibit faithfulness. What ever God may be pleased to ask from him, he from the depths of a thankful soul has to pass back again to his Creator, out of gratitude for God’s love. This is the life of consecration, and Abraham is brought before us as a special example of a man who, having faith, was led to be faithful. —P rebendary W ebb -P eploe . MAY 31 Riches in Christ “A ll power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye . . . and, lo, I am with you" (Matt. 28:18, 19). Do we doubt His power? Not for a mo ment. Do we doubt His wisdom? Do we mistrust His choice for us? Not for a moment. And yet so few o f His followers consider prayer worth while. . . . Are we afraid to put God to the test? . . .

Christian man 30 years old needs employment immediately. Wife sick. Will go anywhere. Write: F. SNELL, 325 N. 11th St., Paterson, N. J. Whenever God makes a promise, let us boldly say, as did Paul, “I believe God” (Acts 27:25), and trust Him to keep His word. . . . Let us get a fresh glimpse of the “ riches of his glory,” which He places at our disposal, and of all the mighty power given unto Him, Then, let us get a fresh vision of the world and all its needs. Why, the wonder is, not that we pray so little, but that we can ever get up from our knees if we realize our own need, the needs o f our home and our loved ones, the needs of our pastor and the church, the needs of our city, our country, the needs of the heathen and the Moham medan world. All these needs can be met by the riches o f God in Christ Jesus. — R ic h a r d s o n . There Is a Green Hill Far Away There is a green hill far away, Without a city wall; Where the dear Lord was crucified, Who died to save us all. Oh dearly, dearly has He loved, And we must love Him, to o ; And trust in His redeeming blood, And try His works to do. —C ecil F. A lexander .
