CIPP Payroll: need to know 2019-20

On the contrary they need a significant support mechanism in order to deliver and stay up to date as they attempt to provide compliant payroll and HR services, as a minimum that will include:

• Payroll providers, bookkeepers and accountants • Software developers • Legal/HR services • Banking services

Guidance and technical information therefore needs to be provided at appropriate levels and at a time that recognises the needs of the users – a prime example of where this process is not as robust as it once was, and thus is failing employers, is for software developers who support all stakeholders, and are key in ensuring the compliant chain.

The response can be read in full at policy hub.

Mann further commented:

“We know from the Queen’s Speech that it is the intention of this Government to strengthen worker protection with the creation of a Single Enforcement Body and so now is the time to ensure that equal education, guidance and support is provided to serve the employer community who seek to pay their employees and workers on time and accurately”

A unique opportunity to give your views to HMRC on the P11D process 12 February 2020

HMRC wants to know about your knowledge and experience of the HMRC P11D expenses and benefits process. The CIPP policy team has created a quick survey which should take about eight minutes to complete and will give HMRC the insight they need.

The aim of this questionnaire is to understand the experience from your perspective from collating the information through to submitting the form and any subsequent amendments.

All responses to this questionnaire are anonymous and you will not be asked for any specific customer information. This is not part of any compliance intervention and the team running this does not have responsibility for handling your tax affairs. Any information you provide will be used to better understand the administrative burden of HMRC’s customers, the reasons why amendments to the original form P11D are necessary and whether the current process could be improved.

But hurry, the survey closes at 4pm on Friday 14 February.
