CIPP QuickPoll: Coronavirus and company policy 27 February 2020

The CIPP has removed its QuickPoll relating to how payroll professionals refresh their payroll knowledge after an extended period of leave, but only briefly, to discuss the very topical issue of Coronavirus.

With the news that a London firm has instructed its staff to work from home, as one of its employees reported experiencing flu-like symptoms, it felt important to ask our members if their companies have policies that outline what will happen in situations such as this. We appreciate that not all companies will have the facilities to allow all of their staff to work from home, and home-working would be impossible in certain scenarios. The question that remains then is, if somebody must self-isolate for 14 days, do company policies state whether their employees will be paid or not for this period?

We would really appreciate it if you could take a moment of your time please to respond to the question on our News Online page.
