Tourism Tasmania
Museum, and from what I’ve heard it will be a lavish affair and sure to bring interstate visitors. Throughout the winter period we have over 70 events and business events happening across the state, which will continue to drive both interstate and intrastate visitors to our regions. Some of our big drawcard winter events including Festival of Voices and Beaker Street Festival have been upscaled for 2024, and on the other end of the cultural barbell there’s a number of major sporting events, including a strong line up of AFL fixtures in Launceston. In addition, Events Tasmania is offering grants to support the marketing of events over the winter period, specifically targeting visitors from outside of Tasmania to increase visitation to our state. To help you with planning over the April – August period, we have created an overview of key events, festivals and business events that will influence visitors to your region, along with an overview of Tourism Tasmania Off Season brand campaign and partnership activity. Visit the Tourism Tasmania website to download our Winter 2024 program https://www.tourismtasmania.com.au/ marketing/campaigns/the-off-season-2024/. On a global scale, Tasmania is still making waves as a travel destination. In case you missed it, at the beginning of January, Tasmania was included in one of the most prestigious global travel lists: The New York Times 52 Places To Go for 2024. Alongside destinations such as Paris in France, Yamaguchi in Japan, Singapore, and O’Higgins in Chile, this is a testament to Tasmania’s unique, high quality and immersive offerings and experiences. An accolade like this is not without the hard work and dedication
of the people within tourism and hospitality, so I congratulate you all for helping shape Tasmania’s visitor experience into one that is recognised and sought after around the world. And finally, towards the end of March, I’ll heading out around the state with some of the Tourism Tasmania team hosting Off Season industry update events. More details around our upcoming industry events can be found on tourismtasmania.com.au. We hope to see you there.
