Are there any taboo subjects? We’re a family-orientated high street gallery, so we won’t exhibit works that are overtly offensive, including graphic sexual content. Can I visit a gallery to talk about displaying my work? While galleries will refer you to the online submissions process, you are welcome of course welcome to speak to the art consultants at your local gallery about your art. Are there any mediums you don’t accept? No – as the art market is forever changing, we will consider all forms of visual art. We may, however, struggle with interpretive dance! What happens if my submission is accepted? Prior to lockdown, we would have invited you to our Birmingham headquarters to talk through the ways we could support you and your art, but now we’re more than happy to offer video calls as well! All of our artists have a dedicated artist programme manager, who is on call for your questions and guidance throughout your time with us. Can my work be inspired by other artists? Absolutely, but we do pride ourselves on our portfolio of innovative artists, so we’re keen to see something new and exciting too.
“It doesn’t feel like a business, it feels like a family. Everybody I’ve met loves what they do. I’ve been in galleries where they just stick your art on the wall, but Castle is so much more than that: it’s an experience.” – Emma-Leone Palmer
“Castle know artists; they understand them and let them grow and support them in being the best they can be. Anything is possible: they believe in what they do, and they believe in you.
It’s magical.” – Scarlett Raven
