New optical spectrum analyser from Yokogawa

input however enables laser beams from wafer, chip or device packages to be captured using a multimode fibre, resulting in direct improvements in measurement throughput. The AQ6360 is ideal for usage in an automated test system and is equipped with Ethernet and GPIB interfaces as standard for remote access and control. Thanks to the built-in optical reference source which enables wavelength calibration, the AQ6360’s wavelength accuracy is always guaranteed.

Designed for precision, engineered for cost-effectiveness, the new AQ6360 optical spectrum analyser (OSA) covers optical communication wavelengths from 1200–1650 nanometres and is optimised for testing telecom devices during and after production. It offers high speed measurements, a robust and compact design and low capital and operational costs. Based on proven diffraction grating technology and performance specifications that are fit for production line applications, the AQ6360 is the ideal instrument for production line testing and inspection of semiconductor lasers used in transceivers, amplifiers and other types of optical communications devices. Different from other OSAs, which have a fibre-coupled input, the AQ6360 offers a free- Ciena’s Ai for DCI offers 24Tbps per rack Ciena’s Waveserver Ai tackles the largest scalability and automation challenges in the Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) market with unmatched capacity—up to 2.4 Tbps in a single rack unit—and a familiar operational toolset based on open APIs to ease integration into existing operational processes. Its entire lifecycle, from provisioning to maintenance, has been simplified to make it rapidly deployable and simple to plan and use. Internal shutters have become the norm and Suncall America has revealed its improved version: the new LC internal shutter slimpack adapters. The adapters offer a number of advantages, including negating the need for installing and removing dust caps, cutting down on dust contamination when removing connectors, and reducing the risk of laser retinal damage to workers, with shutters opening and closing individually.

space optical input. This enables the usage of multimode optical fibres without being affected by high insertion losses. These losses normally result from a mismatch between the connected multimode fibre and OSA’s internal single-mode fibres. The AQ6360’s free-space

Its unprecedented density and scale allows ICPs, DCOs, and service providers to drive down energy and transport costs and increase their competitive differentiation. Waveserver Ai harnesses highly programmable coherent optical technology to maximise capacity at any distance from metro to ultra-long-haul with line-side tunability from single-carrier 100 Gbps to 400 Gbps in 50 Gbps increments and a selectable baud rate of 35Gbaud or 56Gbaud to trade-off channel throughput for optical performance and spectrum usage. It can be

deployed across trans-Atlantic and pan-Pacific subsea links to connect data centres across the globe, enabling operators to enhance their services with differentiated high-speed offerings that would otherwise not be possible. Delivering more than just capacity, Waveserver Ai utilises a full suite of management interfaces and open APIs, so it is easy to operate and integrate with user-defined SDN controllers, or it can be managed by Ciena’s product lifecycle management and planning software, Blue Planet MCP (Manage, Control, and Plan).

Options for the shutters include white, coloured or translucent designs with laser diffusion. They also come with vertical springs/latch types which allow for side by side mounting without the need for screws or banding, however side springs/latch types are also available. In addition, the non-stick shutter doors will not dislodge or produce flattened metal springs, and are cleaning stick friendly with no need for additional attachments.
