2017 AUCTION HIGHLIGHTS
Another successful auction year… 2017 has been a memorable year on the rostrum as the market has been challenging, exciting and rewarding in equal measure with a number of Lots achieving quite spectacular results that would simply not have been achievable by traditional methods.
Although Auctions are a serious business we also aim to make them enjoyable occasions where we can welcome everyone from first time buyers, those seeking a garage or a family home through to professional investors and developers, all standing shoulder to shoulder in our iconic sale room. Our catalogues always contain an eclectic assortment of lots from Churches to toilet blocks, Georgian townhouses to suburban bungalows, plots to blocks of flats with a varied mix of everything in between! So what of 2018?
Having just read last year's review of 2016 and our forecast for 2017, it does seem to have been remarkably accurate! We predicted that 2017 would be a good year for the property market in the West Country and looked forward to the ensuing year with enthusiasm and optimism – this seems to have been a view adopted by the property buying public and proved in the saleroom, as we sold our highest total value since we opened in 2010. The region's property buyers seemed to have ignored the
consistently negative headlines and adopted the mantra that, in an uncertain world, the tangibility of property is still one of the best investments available. Add to this the low interest rates, the general shortage of instructions and, dare we say it, the ‘Brexit’ effect which, far from putting off foreign investors, seems to have confirmed their view that the UK is an increasingly safe place in which to invest. Our practice of holding six
It would seem unimaginably arrogant to assume that we would get our annual predictions right in two successive years especially when so many extraneous events could substantially alter the status quo, however, many of the facts and comments mentioned previously remain the same but, in addition, we detect a really positive attitude from property people "they simply want to get on with the job and make things work" and
large public auctions spread throughout the year is a successful formula which has captured the imagination of all those with an interest in property with each auction attracting a huge attendance and it is generally standing room only at All Saints!
we are the instrument to make this possible! Auctions offer a true reflection of the property world and the wider economy – we look forward to leading the way and hope you will join us! ANDREW MORGAN MBE & OLLY HOLLIS

” “ With over a 100 groups viewing this prefab property perched on the hillside of Walton we had anticipated a feisty battle but the crowd of 750 onlookers were amazed to see two bidders take the price from an initial £230,000 to £490,000!
