ocal consulting firm, Van Note-Harvey As- sociates, Inc., is cele- brating its 125-year anniver- sary in 2019. The firm enjoys a long history of providing professional engineering, environmental and survey- ing services to the regions surrounding its Princeton and Cape May Court House offices, assisting in engineer- ing design and development for several municipalities and countless public and private clients. The firm traces its ori- gins back to Charles Silas

1900, Sincerbeaux added partner G. Roland Moore and undertook the firm's first survey work for Princ- eton University in 1903. The University remains a client today, along with numer- ous other academic, institu- tional, and corporate clients, architects, and other design professionals. In July of 1960, partners Edward B. Van Note and WilliamHarvey incorporated and changed the firm name to Van Note-Harvey Associ- ates, Inc. Since that mod- est beginning, the firm has

been in continuous operation through several ownership transitions and name chang- es. Through the progres- sion of environmental law and technological advances, complementary disciplines such as wastewater design, environmental compliance, construction phase manage- ment, and 3D laser scanning were integrated into the firm’s core services, progress- ing into a true, comprehen- sive engineering consulting service. "The engineer's world of tomorrow will be even more

arduous than the present as we anticipate the evolving global and dynamic engi- neering landscape," said VNHA president and CEO Donald Fetzer. "Sustainabil- ity requirements, emerging technology, and increasingly complex standards have gone beyond the boundaries of traditional disciplines, requiring flexibility and vi- sion to conceptualize and prepare for future endeav- ors. Continuing to provide our clients with exemplary service take precedence in our organization.” Presently, VNHA is engag- ing in an active and enthu- siastic continuity of owner- ship transition to maintain a vibrant atmosphere and contribute new ideas, while continuing to incorporate the latest technology. The firm's longevity and sustained suc- cess is irrefutably the result of the commitment, flexibil- ity, and responsiveness of its team, who recognize their role in leading the civil, envi- ronmental engineering, and land surveying professions into the future. The firm has been named by NJBIZ as one of the 2019 Best Places to Work in New Jersey. VNHA believes that it is conceivable to create re- al-world designs, that are sensitive to environmental constraints and regulations, which reflect an enduring form of responsible and func- tional integrity. Therein lies the firm’s greatest value and commitment to their clients - developing project approaches that address the realities of budget, time, and sustainability, yielding the most practical solution to every engineering challenge. The firmmaintains that goal on every project it takes on and plans to continue for the interminable future. To honor the firm's 125- year anniversary and the legacy of its founder, a do- nation has been made to the Charles Silas Sincerbeaux Class of 1902 Scholarship at Princeton University, estab- lished in 2014 by the bequest of his late wife in tribute to her husband. Van Note-Harvey Asso- ciates, Inc. is a full service consulting engineering, environmental, planning and land surveying orga- nization. 
