his life on the natural plane, will suffer loss. What is that loss? Oh, don’t let us jeopardize heaven’s best by careless, defec tive consecration!— E . L. L angston . JULY 30 Present Power o f the Blood “ The blood of Jesus Christ his son keeps on cleansing us from all sin” (1 John 1:7, literal translation). Do not let us think for one moment that we can live a sanctified life apart from the constant cleansing of the blood of Jesus Christ. W e need daily confession and daily cleansing . . . Let us keep in our minds, as we think of the possibilities of sanctification and as we rejoice in the truth that we are risen with Christ, the equally important truth that we need constant cleansing. — A . S t . J ohn T horpe . JULY 31 Every Need Met "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Ch risf (Eph. 1:3). As unbelief in God is the prime cause of all worry, so simple trust in God is its only effectual cure. . . . In Him, our Father, our loads are lifted, our unrest is removed, our peace is procured, our heart-hunger is ap peased, our soul-thirst is satiated, our fears are banished, our passions are pacified, our disappointments are dispelled, our sighs are changed to songs, our “worries” are over come. Well may we, like Philip, pray: .“Lord, shew us the Father, and it suffice* us” (John 14:8).—-B. M c C all B arbour . Summer Camps for Boys and Girls Swimming, hiking, tennis, and outdoor Bible classes, climaxed at the close of the day by inspiring campfire meetings under the direction of expert youth leaders—that is the program of the summer Bible camps under the direction of William G. Graves. The popularity of the annual boys’ Bible camp at Camp Bethel in San Dimas Can yon, thirty miles from Los Angeles, has resulted in the scheduling of a similar camp for girls at the same site— an ideal location for teen-age groups. The camp for boys from the sixth grade through high school is to be held this year from July 7 to 14, a full week of unexcelled inspiration, recre ation, and fellowship for only $4.75. The girls’ camp, including the same ages, is for a shorter period, from July 14 to 19, at the very low price of $4.00. Camp Bethel, located at the mouth of San Dimas Canyon, is a picturesque and rustic site. The natural, wooded setting makes a most inviting vacation spot where one can play in wholesome surroundings, and above all, can come to know the reality and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Plans are also being made for a combined camp for boys and girls at Mission Springs, a beau tiful conference grounds near Mt. Hermon in the Santa Cruz mountains of central California, August 16 to 23. The cost per child will be $4.50 for the week. Information regarding any of these camps may be obtained from William G. Graves, 1701 Cedar St., Berkeley, Calif.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Cor. 3:18). It is well for us to remember that we do not have to wait until we reach heaven in order to have Christ’s glory. He wishes us to have it now. While the Christian does not now have his glorified body, it is none the less true that beholding Him,' we are changed into the same image from glory to glory. There is no place for drabness in the life that is yielded to Him. Let us learn to know not only of the glory that shall be, but of the glory which is the present possi bility of every life that is yielded to the working of the indwelling Spirit. — D onald G rey B arnhouse . JULY 28 Watching Little Things “ Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have Under grapes” (Cant. 2:15). A holy life is made up of a multitude of small things. It is the little things of the hour, and not the great things of the age, that fill up a life like that of Paul and John, like that of Rutherford, or Brainerd, or Martyn. Little words, not eloquent speeches or sermons; little deeds, not mir acles or battles, nor one great heroic effort or martyrdom, make up the true Chris tian life. The little constant sunbeam, not the lightning; the waters of Siloam “ that go softly” in their meek mission of re freshment, not “the waters of the rivers great and many,” rushing down in tor rent noise and force, are the true symbols of a holy life.— H oratius B onar . JULY 29 Can W e Stand the Test? "Every man's work shall be made mani fest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is” (1 Cor. 3:13). In that day when we stand before the judgment seat of Christ we are to he tested by fire, the fire of God’s holiness, the fire of God’s glory, and he who has honest ly renounced sin, and yielded his will, his body, his time, and his all to the service of God will then receive rewards for service, rewards that beggar description. But he who by defective consecration, by careless ness, and by disobedience, has been living
