What challenges do you think a broker might face in 2035? Insurance brokers are likely to face a complex set of challenges predominantly driven by climate volatility, technological disruption, and evolving regulations. More frequent and severe natural disasters will make risk assessment and placement harder with insurers; therefore, the need for brokers to enhance their risk assessment capabilities and collaborate with insurers to develop innovative solutions is paramount. AI and digital platforms will intensify competition, requiring brokers to continually upgrade their skills and adopt new tools to remain relevant. Data privacy and cybersecurity concerns will grow as brokers rely more on digital solutions, while new regulations will demand greater transparency and compliance. Additionally, brokers will need to educate clients about emerging risks such as evolving cyber threats and climate impacts and help them navigate increasingly sophisticated insurance products. The role of brokers will demand agility, deeper expertise, and a commitment to ongoing learning to help clients build My broking philosophy is built on the foundations of clarity, foresight and care. Listening deeply, responding thoughtfully and tailoring solutions that are embedded in a client’s business that support innovation, resilience and growth. I strive to go beyond transactions to become a steady, strategic presence. Being there to help them navigate change whilst simplifying the complexities of risk and insurance and leveraging data & analytics to help clients visualize risk exposure to make informed decisions about coverage and investment. The world is changing fast and so are the risks clients face as well as their expectations. For this reason, I am curious, seeking new insights and embracing innovations, not just to stay relevant but to serve better. For me, at the heart of it all is a simple belief; when you never stop learning, you never stop growing and that’s the kind of partner I strive to be for every client, every step of the way. Brokers are evolving to become trusted strategic advisors. What does this mean for our profession? This evolution means brokers must develop broader expertise in risk management, data analytics, and regulatory environments as they will need to offer tailored risk management advice to help clients make informed decisions and achieve their business goals. This deeper partnership builds trust, enhances client loyalty, and positions brokers as essential contributors to their clients’ success. resilience in an unpredictable world. What is your broking philosophy?

It raises our level of professionalism and broadens the range of career opportunities available within the industry, creating new possibilities for career advancement, specialization, and increased influence in insurance and risk management. This also elevates the reputation of the industry, which will likely attract a wider range of talent and encourage continuous learning. Ultimately this shift strengthens the industry by demonstrating the essential role brokers play in supporting clients’ long-term success and resilience. A profession that becomes more dynamic, respected, and future- ready, ensuring brokers remain relevant is a good thing! What are some lessons that you’ve learnt along the way that you wish someone told you about on day 1 of the job? I wish someone had told me that technical knowledge alone isn’t enough; empathy, resilience, and the ability to listen are what truly set you apart. I’ve learned that setbacks are inevitable, but they’re often the best teachers; so, reflect on them to uncover blind spots and find the courage to try again. While advice on day one is helpful, lived experience has sharpened my instincts in navigating complex claims, managing client expectations, and adapting to market shifts; teaching me to be curious and never get too comfortable. The nuances of negotiation, the art of timing, and the importance of integrity, these are lessons that only reveal their depth through real-world challenges. In hindsight, I’m grateful I had challenges along the way. It’s helped me become more thoughtful, strategic, and trusted advisor. Lastly, surround yourself with a strong mentor as having the right guidance can accelerate growth and help you navigate complexities with greater confidence. If you were to be crowned the national Broker of the Year winner, what would that recognition mean to you? It would be recognition not just for what I do, but for how I do it, with heart, strategy and an unwavering commitment to fairness. Personally, it affirms the values I live by: integrity, humility, and curiosity. Professionally, it celebrates the journey of transforming brokerage into a force for empowerment, resilience, and ethical growth. It’s a nod to the achievements not just in my professional career but for the talented team I have the privilege to lead and work with, the clients I champion and who instill their trust in me to guide them through complex challenges. Looking ahead, this recognition fuels my mission to expand with purpose, to model what future-focused broking can look like, and to leave a legacy that uplifts communities. It strengthens my resolve to lead with purpose, elevate our profession, and inspire others to pursue excellence and innovation in every aspect of our work.
