Good to Know Pets
When should you come? July and August have the best of the weather and everything will be open. April and May are popular with fishermen and being early-season, the holiday is better value. June is delightful with the sun getting warmer. The river will be less crowded and most of the tourist attractions will be open. September is one of the best times to come. Historically the weather has been dry, the water is warmer and it’s not crowded. October offers exceptional value, but the days are shorter and it can get cold during the day. But you will have the river to yourself and if you want to “get away from it all”, this is the place and time to do it. Equipment we supply on your cruiser On board equipment includes cutlery, crockery, glasses, cooking utensils, bed linen and towels, a radio/CD player and a pair of binoculars. On-board services include galley with gas cooker, oven and grill, fridge, shower room, flushing lavatory and hand basin, hot and cold running water and hot air central heating. If required, bicycles and outboard motors are available to hire but pre-booking is essential.
Pets are not permitted on Roscommon, Longford, Linssen, Limerick and Tyrone They are very welcome on all other boat types for an extra charge of €100. We can also recommend excellent local kennels should you need them.
Parking Unsecured parking is available free of charge at all of our 3 marinas. This is not under cover.
Transfers We can offer scheduled transfers from Dublin airport to all marinas. Our scheduled transfers are between 12 noon and 6pm on arrival and up until 10am on departure. If you are travelling outside these times, we can organise a private transfer at the cost of a taxi or minibus. Insurance Insurance for accidental damage and public liability is included in your hire cost. However we do ask for a returnable insurance excess of between €1,200 and €1,750 depending on the size of the boat hired. This may be reduced to an amount between €150 and €250, by paying a non-refundable waiver of between €105 and €165, according to the size of boat. Payment of the waiver will be permitted at the company’s discretion. We cannot, however, provide for wilful or negligent misconduct. The insurance cover provided is set out in the Conditions of Hire. Fuel You get the boat full of fuel and when you come back at the end of your holiday, we fill the boat again and you pay for the fuel used. Typical fuel bill is €150 to €300 for a week depending on the size of boat. We also offer an all-inclusive package to include all your fuel, the damage waiver, cleaning and one lock card. Cost depends on the type of boat and length of holiday. Ask for details when you book or when you arrive at the marina. Check-in & Check-out time We have to clean and service every cruiser before it can be put out on hire, therefore cruisers are normally available for pick-up at 4pm. In certain circumstances we may be able to arrange an earlier pick up. You will be required to vacate your cruiser by 10am on the day of departure.

On-board power The only on-board electrical power supply is from a 12 volt cigarette socket similar to the system found in cars. You should bring a 12 volt charger for your mobile phone and/or camera. (we can supply a 12V to USB converter). Most boats have a 240V supply from an inverter. Other boats have plug-in inverters with very low current. On-board storage Adequate on board storage space is provided for clothing but large suitcases and non-essentials can be stored at the marina base and collected on your return.
