News In General, April

A WORD FROM OUR CEO Dr. Kenneth Cochran, DSc, RN, MBA, FACHE President & CEO I hope all of you are having a great start to Spring and that the recent weather has not negatively impacted anyone. I am looking forward to another successful LDI session this week. One of several goals that leadership will be working on is to strengthen accountability to our Standards of Behavior. We know from statistics that the Standards of Behavior, AIDET, hourly nurse rounding, and bed side shift reporting positively impacts patient satisfaction and are key drivers to improving overall patient experiences. OGHS has seen much success over the last 9 months increasing our ability to meet patients expectations, but we must remain focused on executing our efforts to maintain this improvement.

We are gearing up for our annual Live4Life community health fair. Last year over 300 participants attended. I encourage you to get involved, volunteer or showcase your department. It is a great way to educate the community about our services. Lastly, I would like to recognize and thank our Information Technology Department for their months of efforts to lead in the preparation for our Cerner transition. Our colleagues both within and outside the IT Department have spent many extra hours and sleepless nights to ensure we are properly prepared. Please thank them for maintaining our current systems, while also creating new processes for our new system coming on May 1, 2017. In an effort to increase engagement in the monthly employee newsletter, we have created this short survey for employees to fill out. Complete surveys will be entered into a drawing to win a prize. To give everyone an equal chance of winning, five lucky employees who filled out the survey will be chosen on the 15th of each month. Items in the survey will range from information included in the newsletter to giving your opinion on employee related topics. If you are a lucky winner, you will be contacted by the PR/Marketing Department with information about claiming your prize. If you have any questions, pleasecontact Deanna LeJeune at Ext.5170.
