outdid all others in 2023.” Tell us a bit more about that role in Serf 2. It seems that you liked it even more than your role in the first film? “I like Serf 2 because it’s still the story of my char- acter, Grisha, but that story is now being developed and isn’t a repetition thanks to the screenwriters, who wrote in a thought-provoking and equally interesting spirit as in the first film.” It was particularly challenging to shoot the film The Challenge. Does everything you can experience as an actor sometimes seem unbelievable to you? Such as the cosmonaut programme... “Yes, I love my work because it’s unbelievable all the things I can try my hand at by acting: horse riding, par- ticipating in battles against Napoleon, flying through the cosmos, fighting in World War I, being a surgeon, a foot- baller, and all in a short period of time.” And now you’re also on an exotic island at a luxury resort! What can you tell us abo- ut your role in the third season of The Whi- te Lotus? “I don’t like to set professional challenges for myself in advance. I like to be surprised by life, like now with my role in The White Lotus series. Life is unpredictable, which is also why it’s beautiful. The challenges I’ve had to date weren’t expected or planned either. And everything happened better than I could have dreamt.” How is the situation with the theatre; are you preparing any new plays?
“I’m acting in the play The Lie at the Belgrade Drama Theatre. I’m waiting for the premieres of the films Isola- tion and God Be With Us, as well as the Russian series Dayte shou! and Unprincipled, as well as the film Love at Second Sight”. You’re also a very successful producer. Do you still find that aspect of the job fulfi- lling? - The job of a producer fulfils me, but the acting as- pect still takes precedence. I’m in negotiations for film- ing in Serbia with certain productions, but more about that when the time comes.” Travels in 2024? Air Serbia has introdu- ced many new destinations. Have you had opportunities to fly to any of them? “I hope that I’ll soon have the opportunity to take a holiday in some new destination. If you were leading a foreigner on a tour of the beauty spots of Serbia, where wo- uld it be a must for you to take them? “I would take foreigners to see Serbia’s restored fortress- es, Mokra Gora, Mount Tara and Stara Planina... I no longer like Zlatibor and I hope our other mountains won’t suffer the same fate.” And when it comes to Belgrade? “The thing I love most in Belgrade is its spirit, energy and the atmosphere that comes from the people.”
