Recounting the stories of the Apollo missions in intimate detail, The Moonwalkers also provides be- hind-the-scenes insight into the Artemis programme, including in- terviews between Hanks and Arte- mis astronauts. With the audience gathered in the darkened auditori- um, Tom Hanks’s likably enthusi- astic voiceover booms out, telling us that this floor space is the size of Mission Control, Houston. Huge photographic images of the moon’s surface and planet Earth flash up on the walls, while there’s also fan- tastic film footage of the astronauts bouncing and floating... The effect is something between a video art installation at a gallery and the old hour-long science-themed films.
