Hill House has become a very important and spiritual place in my friends’ lives and in my own life. Uncle George, Aunt Florence, Brother-in-law Mark as well as many family members of friends have spent their last days in comfort while receiving excellent care from the Hill House Hospice staff. Hill House Hospice provides a spiritual peace for me during these difficult times. This peace comes from a place of kindness and compassion that the staff extends to each family member in this home-like setting. A Moment of Gratitude

The Power of Love Memory Book
Over the years, we have had the privilege to be witness to many beautiful and joyful moments, even during the hardest of times.
Over the next year, we are excited and honoured to be creating a collection of memories and moments called: The Power of Love Memory Book. This is an opportunity for anyone that has been impacted by Hill House Hospice and would like to share their stories of hope, love and compassion. We hope that this Memory Book will enable you to tell your story and inspire others with your words. Please feel free to add meaningful pictures or quotations or anything that you feel you would like to share with others. Projects can be an individual effort or something that you create with your loved ones. You may choose to use an idea as displayed in the book, or you may be inspired to come up with your own vision. Thank you to those that have already been able to share their favourite memories and we look forward to receiving all of your stories.

Please see a few excerpts from the Power of Love Memory Book that have been posted already. Thank you to everyone that has contributed so far and we can’t wait to continue to see this book come to life with loving memories.
From a passionate volunteer at Hill House: “Last October, I reached out to Hill House Hospice in hopes of joining their team and so began my role as a volunteer in this magical place….These caring, committed professionals give so much of themselves each and every day…The last year has been incredibly inspiring…I have been touched by so many, many folks, and witnessed love, support and courage. Above all, I have learned about humility, strength and perseverance in the face of adversity.”
From an inspired staff member: “….I was so happy that I was there to hold her hand and remind her to take everything one day at a time.”
From a caring family member: “…the decision to spend his final days at Hill House Hospice was a gift to all of us who loved him and we will always be grateful for the care he received…Mark was able to spend time with his nephews who meant the world to him. He even taught them to play poker! His extended family and friends were able to be with him and make his last days so meaningful. The weather that October was so beautiful and the lovely garden became a refuge for Mark…Hill House Hospice became a refuge for him and our family during his final days.”

The holidays are a special time, a time to connect with all that grounds us in purpose, and a time to welcome peace into our lives.
It is a time to show gratitude and a time to help support those in need. During this holiday season, we ask you to remember Hill House Hospice and the families that we serve and know that your support makes a huge difference. Life is a continuous learning journey that’s for sure. I have learned the art of courage by watching the Hill House Team throughout the pandemic, not just ‘show up’ for work, but to give 150% of themselves to the residents and the families that we serve here. I have learned so more about resilience than I ever thought possible, by listening and seeing families go through such ‘hard stuff’, losing a loved one way too early, and instead of giving up hope, turning their energy into creating positive moments with their loved one. I am astounded how the smallest act of kindness can make a world of difference and how privileged I am to do the work that I do here at Hill House Hospice.
Thank you for your support …Without your donations, we wouldn’t be open. Every gift of support helps.
This holiday season, know that we are grateful for you. Thank you for remembering us and helping us take care of those facing end of life. Thank you for creating compassionate memories for everyone that walks through our doors.
From all of us at Hill House Hospice, wishing you and your family a loving, joyful and peaceful holiday season.

Letters from our Community I have seen your compassion, kindness, and fortitude to take on others suffering. It knows no bounds. When you are sitting there on a bad day wondering how you can go on. When you’re witnessing the pain of those leaving us and the pain, we as family members have to endure knowing an unfathomable loss is just around the corner, please remember this: you are CHERISHED, RESPECTED AND LOVED for all that you do by the families that have passed through your doors. Thank you for your selflessness and commitment.
Dear Hill House Staff, Thank you so very much for providing our father with such loving care during his stay at Hill House. Knowing that he was in compassionate car provided our family with peace of mind and gave our father a peaceful and caring environment during his final days. We are grateful for your kindness. Many heartfelt thanks.
To all the staff and volunteers at Hill House – We send you our deepest gratitude for the care and compassion you gave our father and mother in life and death. The personal love, the physical care, the manicures, the massages, the music therapy, everyone’s sincere caring smiles… she was truly, truly happy.
Words can’t express our gratefulness, but our hearts car. You are all heroes and angels.
Dear friends, There is no words to express our sincere thanks. We are so grateful.
