UPF RATING 50+, 30, 15

Ultra Violet Protection Factor (UPF) measures ultraviolet radiation from the sun. UPF 15 - Minimum protection UPF 30 - Good protection UPF 50, 50+ - Excellent protection A rating of 50+ is the highest rating and is defined as excellent protection from the sun.

FIRE RETARDANT

To be considered fire retardant or flame resistant, a fabric must self extinguish when ignition is removed. There are 2 types of fabric classifications.

CHEMICALLY TREATED FLAME / FIRE RETARDANT

INHERENT FIRE Inherent fabrics are made from non- flammable/flame resistant materials that are woven or knitted into their fabric structures.

Fabrics that are chemically treated with a fire retardant chemical to slow down burning or self-extinguishing when exposed to flame.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE CATEGORY (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment Category (PPE) are categories that are specified in the NFPA 70E Electrical Arc Flash guidelines. PPE 1 Clothing required to meet a minimum Arc rating of 4 Cal /cm 2 PPE 2 Clothing required to meet a minimum Arc rating of 8 Cal /cm 2 PPE 3 Clothing required to meet a minimum Arc rating of 25 Cal /cm 2 PPE 4 Clothing required to meet a minimum Arc rating of 40 Cal /cm 2

ARC RATING Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV) defines the protection level against second and third degree burns (Arc Flash). The higher the number, the greater protection provided.
