Course Description

Our multi-day summer programs for middle school students are designed with a stronger focus on leadership and skill mastery. In addition to learning the skill of kayaking and paddleboarding, activities will include cooperative games plus team-building/problem-solving challenges on land and on water. Middle school students will also receive training in navigation and rescue techniques. We warmly welcome students of all abilities ranging from those who have never played an instrument before, to those who are familiar with our program. Students will be learning in both small group and individualized lessons on their select instruments. We will have collaborative opportunities where students can work together on musical selections. Hoboken Public School District’s summer theatre camp incorporates creative movement and dramatic play; enhancing social skills, collaboration, and communicative skills while expanding their artistic abilities. Students will rotate between three different classes daily in acting, singing, and dancing. Students will learn how to sing a song, will learn choreography to a song, and monologues or scenes to memorize lines and act in. At the end of each week on Friday at 10:30am, parents/community members will be invited to view a showcase of what students have learned all week on the stage in the high school auditorium.
