Cubs Christmas cheer chorus
BOURGET Le Partage de Bourget has a half-off dis- count sale going on all Christmas items until Dec. 29. The community thrift store is open Thursday, 1 to 8 p.m., Friday, 1 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Le Partage will be closed from Dec. 27 to 29 for a Christmas break for its volunteers. Le Partage group thanks donors, clients, and volunteers for all their support this past year. CUMBERLAND Christmas season festivities at St. An- drew’s United Church continue with Dec. 24 with the Children’s Christmas Eve Service, at 5 p.m., a half-hour event geared towards families with small children who get to at- tend church in their pyjamas to hear the Christmas story. Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m. is a car- oling service plus communion. St. Andrew’s United is at 2557 Old Montréal Road. St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church of- fers its Yuletide schedule of events. Dec. 24 services are at 4 p.m. (bilingual) and 9 p.m. (English), Dec. 25 at 9 a.m. (English) with the Christmas morning service open to mem- bers of both the St. Margaret Mary and St. Edith Stein parishes. For St. Edith Stein Par- ish there is a Dec. 24, 7 p.m. service (English). New Year’s Masses includes the Feast of the Solemnity of the Mother of God (a holy day of obligation). The Dec. 31, 4 p.m. service (bilingual) is for both St. Margaret Mary and St. Edith Stein parishes. The New Year’s Day services are 9 a.m. for St. Margaret Mary Par- ish and 10:45 a.m. for St. Edith Stein Parish, both in English. BOURGET | A Christmas tradition contin- ued at the Maison Caressant Care House in Bourget. The 1st Clarence Cubs pack went a’caroling at the seniors residence on Dec. 13, an annual event both the residents at the maison and the Cubs themselves enjoy.
“It brought great joy,” said Nathalie Kok, a contact for the local Cubs pack, “and lots of heartwarming smile and gratitude for ev- eryone.” The local Cubs group has maintained the caroling tradition as part its effort to give back to the community.
