Our requirements There’s no such thing as a typical Allen & Overy candidate. We are open- minded and are interested in people who share that quality. Naturally, we are looking for individuals who can demonstrate strong academic performance – we expect you to be heading for at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent),

and to have at least 340 UCAS points (AAB) at A-level (or equivalent). Beyond this, we want to see evidence of a global mindset, teamwork, communication skills, planning and organisation, critical thinking, resilience, commercial awareness and commitment, both to a career in law and to Allen & Overy as a firm. We mean it when we say that your university and degree subject are not relevant in our selection process – we do not have a shortlist of preferred universities and around half of our trainees did not study law.

We recognise that some of you are already sure that you want to be a lawyer, and others are exploring it amongst a number of options.
