Greetings! Thank you for considering a sponsorship to our annual Golf Tournament. This year’s event will take place at Rooster Run in Petaluma on Thursday May 23rd. The Golf Tournament supports our Community Gym and Youth Programs, and is a fun way to raise funds for the Center! The Community Gym, built in 2010, was a community effort to bring recreation, health, and community engagement to West Marin. Each week hundreds of visitors access the gym and sponsors like you allow us to maintain and upgrade the gym facilities and add new youth and recreation programs for the community to enjoy. This year’s Golf Tournament promises to be another year of epic fun featuring a great day of golf, boxed lunches, Hog Island Oysters, drinks, and outdoor dinner to end the day! Your sponsorship helps support our mission; to foster healthy communities within the San Geronimo Valley and Nicasio by providing an inclusive, diverse, and dynamic center for locally based human services, arts and culture (music), education, health and wellness, and community building. Since its founding in 1969, the Community Center has served the four villages of the San Geronimo Valley — Woodacre, San Geronimo, Forest Knolls and Lagunitas — and Nicasio, and the surrounding communities in western Marin County. Some of our recent program highlights include our weekly Senior Congregate Lunch, our “Growing Old Gracefully" peer support group, our award-winning VAST Tutoring Center, Youth Job Training, Zoila’s licensed childcare with scholarships for low- income families, community health fairs, vaccine clinics and wellness programs, as well as our extraordinary Food Bank which serves hundreds of families every single week!
