INQUIRY QUESTION How did societies change during the Renaissance? How have individuals, groups and ideas from the Renaissance influenced the modern world? The term Renaissance has been used to describe great changes in art, science and learning that took place in Italy during the fifteenth and sixteenth century. These changes began in Italy and spread throughout Europe. These transformative ideas during the Renaissance sparked debates that not only reshaped people’s understanding of the world but also laid the foundation for modern thought and innovation.
