Despite its remoteness, the Artesian Range faces threats from invasive species like donkeys, horses, pigs and cats, as well as changing fire patterns and increased wildfires. The Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC), a non- profit funded by donations, manages the area for conservation through fire management, feral animal control and biological surveys.
