LEARNING INTENTION By the end of this lesson, you should be able to describe patterns of and reasons for international migration and the effects of migration on Australia.

Tune in The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a United Nations related organisation. In addition to providing services and advice to governments and migrants, it also tracks migration data. Every year it releases a report on migration. FIGURE1 lists the top 20 destinations of international migrants and countries of origin.
