Evaluating democratic institutions and systems As you research and learn about different things, you will evaluate issues by considering the strengths and weaknesses of differing opinions. Bias and different perspectives will be considered in selecting information used to form opinions. Alternative viewpoints will be acknowledged in your evaluations . You will draw evidence-based conclusions about the capacity of Australia’s political and legal institutions to enhance and foster democratic values that are reflective of the cultural, religious and social makeup of Australian society. Using evidence, you will further explain how political opinions are influenced, formed and put into effect within Australia’s democratic institutions and evaluate how effectively Australian citizens use their political and legal systems.
