Chapter Tampa (FL) Alumni
• Annually contributes to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
2019), Elementary School named in his honor, Founding member of Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan (THAP). Legal: Judge Eric R. Myers (Xi 1976), appointed as county judge in 2000 and re-elected to the bench twice. Commerce: Alan Thompson (Beta Omicron 1969), graduate of the Coast Guard Academy and served as the Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Pilots Association until 2020. Other brothers excel in medicine, dentistry, law, construction, military, real estate, religion, and all manner of professions. In 2007, Les Miller returned to a leadership role and led the chapter, establishing the Harry Morris Lifetime Achievement award and leading the effort to pay off the Diamond House. In 2009, Ed Narain was elected Polemarch and led the chapter to its first Southern Province Chapter of the Year Award (medium). Brother Narain moved meet- ings up to 7pm in an effort to improve efficiency, held the first planning retreat to establish the chapter goals and creat- ed the Tampa Alumni Leadership Award
of which Immediate Past Polemarch Miller was the first recipient.

Harvey Jr., (Pi 1948, Chapter Invisible 2012)Tampa City Council 1983 (first Black person since reconstruction elected to City Council) • Lesley J. “Les” Miller, Jr. (Zeta Chi 1975), City Council, State Representative, State Senator, County Commissioner, elected as County Commissioner • Edwin A. “Ed” Narain (Zeta Chi 1996) , State Representative • Cedric K. McCray (Zeta Chi 1996), Legislative Aide to City Councilman Frank Reddick • Henry C. ‘Shake’ Washington (Tampa (FL) AL 1989), Mem- ber of the Hillsborough County School Board Education: Kevin Sneed (Zeta Phi 1987), Dean University of South Florida College of Pharmacy and numerous members of the fraternity that have worked in education.
In 2010, Cedric McCray matched Ralph Rance’s (Chicago Heights (IL) 1971) altruism and led the chapter for four consecutive years. Since his tenure ended, CaptainAllen L. Thompson, Jr. (Wilmington (NC) AL 1981) and Brother Robert Irvin (Fayetteville-Fort Bragg-Pope AFB NC) AL 2000, Chapter Invisible 2022) were elected to lead the chapter to modern day. Brother Irvin led the chapter to earning the Southern Province Reclamation Chapter of the year in 2016 and 2017 and capped it off with winning the chapter’s second Province Chapter of the Year Award (Large) in 2018. Tampa (FL) Alumni Chapter was selected to host Grand Chapter Meeting in 2023. Roland C. Daniels (Asbury Park-Neptune (NJ) AL 1977) was elected Polemarch in 2019 and Brother Collis H. Ivery III (Beta Zeta 1978) was most recently elected in 2021. This is but a brief history of the many accomplishments and achieve- ment in every field of endeavor of the Tampa (FL) Alumni Chapter.
