Listening 9: Conversations Review

Conversations Review • Conversations differ from lectures in that they are not set in the classroom, learning about a subject. Instead, they are about everyday campus situations outside the classroom. • TOEFL iBT conversations are typically between a student and a person who works at a university, such as a professor, a coach, a librarian, or an advisor. • Conversations can be about a variety of campus-related situations, such as catching up with a professor about a missed class, finding a specific book with a librarian, or talking about a campus job with a manager. • During an official TOEFL iBT test, you will not be able to see the questions while you are listening to a conversation or lecture . • In this section, you will listen to three conversations and answer questions about them . For an authentic experience, read the questions only after you have listened to the conversations .
