ORPS QUILTERS & SEWING CLUB As the season closes, we would like to say we have enjoyed this year very much. We have had lots of laughs and welcomed many new friends to the group. We had the pleasure of hosting the March Ladies’ Luncheon and it turned out to be a wonderful opportunity. “Celebrating Community” allowed us to show off some of our handmade treasures and give a glimpse into the work we do for Shelter From The Storm, Cathedral City Fire Department and Cathedral City Police Department . So, who can be a National and Chapter member of the FMCA? The answer is any ORPS owner or ORPS “long-time renter” with a Motor Coach, towable RV or 5th wheel. You will find applications near the mailroom in El Sagaro and La Palma. National FMCA Benefits include Emergency Medical Assistance as needed, mail forwarding, travel assistance in the event of an issue, discount wireless hotspot, discount tires for your RV or car and a great magazine, just to name a few. The FMCA National parent club dues are $85 first year; $75 thereafter. Annual local dues are $25. New ORPS Chapter members will also need to purchase a name tag, $10 each. You do need a National membership first to join our Chapter at ORPS. www.fmca.com Mar 3-5 ORPS FMCA Chapter Onsite Rally included a Tuesday Rally Welcome Party, Wednesday was a big day: Breakfast, 14 members played Pickleball and Keith Hilmer won the Tournament. 23 members played in our Golf Scramble Tournament. Thursday we had the Open Speaker series, Cocktail Party, Dinner and Annual Business Meeting. Our many volunteers came out and did an outstanding job working together for fun, good competition. We then shared a great evening meal provided by our friends at Bella Roma.

through the generosity of the ORPS community by participating in our raffles, sales and donations, we are able to sponsor these selfless groups. Your kindness generated $180 in cash the day of the event, and greatly needed items for the shelter. Through the money we have raised this season, we were elated to award $4,000 to Angelina Coe, Executive Director, at Shelter from the Storm. We are so grateful to be a part of such a giving community. THANK YOU We also held the drawing for the two raffle quilts. FMCA Rally Speaker Series . ORPS resident Jim Leishman , a partner in “Nordhavn” motor-yachts shared his journey: around the world in a 40-foot single engine trawler. ORPS FMCA Annual Meeting at our Rally Dinner recapped a fun season with potluck dinners, bicycling and walking for the Tour-de Palm Springs benefit, Opening Day of Polo in Indio, a Hot Air Balloon “glow” on the Golf Course, a mini off-site Rally/Wine Tasting to Temecula. We welcomed current season’s sixteen new families into our Chapter. We nominated a new Vice President and elected the 2020–2021 Officers of ORPS FMCA . New ORPS FMCA Chapter member benefit A local vendor “ RV Flush ” agreed to a discount if our group scheduled many lots together. We also thank “RV Flush” for providing a 2020 ORPS Rally Door Prize. Danny & Larry got a free tank clean-out service.

Our last event was regrettably postponed to the fall: our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. Also cancelled was the National FMCA Rally in Tucson Arizona.
