It is my great pleasure to provide this letter as confirmation of my support for Brother John F. Burrell as a candidate for the Elder Watson Diggs Award. As you well know, our great fraternity is anchored on achievement and serving our youth and communities. Brother Burrell has demonstrated that he has the right DNA and the desire to continue to do great things for his profession, his family, his community and our Fraternity. Brother Burrell has demonstrated excellence throughout his career as an athletic trainer at the collegiate and professional football levels, including the Canadian, United and National Football leagues. In addition, he has been a true Brother who has been consistently financial and an active participant and leader for various initiatives at the local, province and national levels. Some great examples of his financial commitment are he is a national life member, but more impressive, he is a life member in four provinces. In terms of Fraternity leadership, he has taken on some key initiatives over the years like National MTA chairman and Membership Intake Task Force member, just to name a few. I have often said a true Brother always asks the question, “what more can I do for Kappa?” Although we may have different demands given our own unique situations, time is the one thing as Brothers we all have in common.
